NEWS CENTER – In mid-May, resistance fighters were killed and some wounded. Since our numbers were greatly reduced, each heval had to take the place of two or three friends. The Hevals’ efforts didn’t let up and just kept getting bigger. Maybe they were waiting for martyrdom, but that didn’t stop them, because they were sure that they would make history.
Kawa was in the empty space between Fuat’s and Nesrin’s positions. When the invaders’ attacks increased, he stood guard here and carried out infiltrations and assassinations. Also on this day he murdered and shot three occupiers here. At the same time, he and Fuat ambushed the attackers trying to advance to Fuat’s position and hindered them by detonating mines. Heval Kawa played a very important role in this war. He went through the stations one by one and took care of every comrade. He was both Heval and commander. At the same time, he found himself on the front lines of the war. He would assassinate, conduct infiltrations, lay mines and detonate them. After this action with Heval Fuat, both were slightly wounded by mortar attacks by the invaders. Heval Fuat was wounded in the leg and Heval Kawa in the hand. Although they were in pain, it wasn’t life-threatening. Heval Kawa hid his wound, but it was noticed because the blood would not stop flowing. He had to get painkillers to relieve his pain. Fuat’s pain also increased.
Kawa and Şervan, who wanted to get painkillers, were dismantling some unmined areas. Heval Kawa stepped on the spot he had mined on the way back. Heval Kawa, who was careful where he stepped on the way out, couldn’t be so careful on the way back. Heval Kawa became a Şehîd.
Nishebin! The city where history is being made at all times. The center of the serhildans and the resistance. This city opened its arms wide to these fighters who wanted to make history again. She hugged her with compassion. These unique people carried within them the heartbeat of beauty, Hevaltî and the Chairman. Here they laughed and cried. Heval Kawa was the symbol of eternity in this city. He was known for his hevaltî and upright posture. Kawa who didn’t stop… He didn’t stop to catch up with everyone and everything, he was always on the move to do more. His goal was for Nisêbîn to make history. Kawa went on attack, assassination, ambush in this war; he used Molotovs, Kalashnikovs, B7s. Heval Kawa has done everything what must be done in a war. Neither the occupiers nor anyone else could stop him. It is difficult to describe the heroes of the resistance in Nisêbin. Kawa was the forerunner and commander of these heroes. To really feel them, you have to live with them. Kawa had become a Şehîd, but no one could accept that.
On May 21, after the martyrdom of Kawa, Xeyri from Elika went to the Şehîd Gelhat neighborhood. He became a Şehîd when he tried to cross a street. Heval Xeyri only had one hand. He also lost an eye during the resistance. Even if he was missing an eye and a hand, he was always at the top. Xeyri wore Hevaltî on his face while laughing. He had all the beauties of the Hevaltî in his face. He became a Şehîd at a time when he should not have left us. Heval Xeyri, almost half his body, fought non-stop, worked non-stop. Until he reached the stars. Heval Xeyri was the spirit of the resistance.
On the morning of May 22, for some reason we don’t understand, water was pouring out of Fuat’s mouth and nose. Heval Fuat had his eyes closed. He believed in the Hevaltî to the end. Fuat was a line. He was an army all by himself. He was someone the occupiers shied away from, but he was the darling of his comrades. I don’t know if his work can be described, but he was a hero who will never be forgotten.
Rihan, Ekin, and Kendal Bagok suffered martyrdom when the attackers spotted them retreating. We took the body of Kendal Bagok and buried it, but we couldn’t take the bodies of the other two Hevals. Three Hevals, three heroes have become Şehîds in this group. Ekin Nisêbîn was the last girlfriend to join. She had just learned how to hold a gun, but she knew how to carry it to the end with a heart full of courage.
Xebatkar was staying in Elika with four comrades. Knowing that Xebatkar was wounded, the other four comrades were determined not to abandon him. Heval Xebatkar recognized the situation. He told the four hevals to sleep and became a Şehîd himself when he wanted to keep watch. In doing so, he sacrificed himself and gave the other four Hevals no reason to stay. Heval Xebatkar, who lived in the mountains of Mardin for years, was not only a symbol of Nisêbîn, but also of Mardin. He was a very popular heval in society. He distributed his Hevaltî, which he had built up in the mountains, to the streets of Nisêbin, to the posts of Nisêbin, one by one.
This is how the last curfew ended. Whatever happened, Nisêbîn made history. This resistance has been dubbed the “Nisêbîn Syndrome”. Nisêbin was the cradle of glorious resistance. She had inscribed herself in history with the experiences she had left behind. What you left behind will be told from language to language, your heroism will be rewritten in Sûr, Nisêbîn, Gever, Şirnex, Silopî, Cizre, Hezex, Varto, Derik, Qoser and Wan.
These lines are written in memory of the Şehîds of Nisêbîn in the person of Şehîd Xebatkar. It is our most sacred duty to protect, wear and cherish the memory of the immortal heroes. Nisêbîn has always been the story of heroism. Perhaps everything can be described, but when it comes to the war in Kurdistan, words have no place. No matter how much is written, it will always be incomplete. Because some situations and feelings cannot be described. Nevertheless, it was written as a duty. Because Şehîd Xebatkar said: “This resistance must be known”.Here, too, Şehîd Kawa always regretted that he had not written down and recorded his voice. We see it as our duty to fulfill this responsibility that they left us as an inheritance. We bow in reverence to the memory of all our Şehîds.
