BEHDINAN – Speaking to the special program broadcast on Stêrk TV, Amed Malazgirt, one of the headquarters commanders of the People’s Defense Center (HSM), talked about the Turkish state’s invasion attacks since April 14, 2022, the resistance exhibited by HPG-YJA Star guerrillas and the heavy isolation concept of the Turkish state in Imrali. made evaluations.
Noting that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan has entered the 25th year of his captivity in the Imrali dungeon, Malazgirt said, “Global powers have handed over our Leadership to the Turkish state in order to realize their plans in the Middle East without any hindrance. Because although he started his struggle for the Kurds and Kurdistan, there were also solution projects for the Middle East. Despite being under a great isolation for 24 years, our leadership has displayed a great resistance,” he said.
Manzikert, one of the HSM commanders, pointed out that the resistance of the Kurdish People’s Leader despite all the harsh isolation and torture conditions in Imrali has frustrated the Turkish state’s hope of making concessions, and said: “The Turkish state knows very well that the line and courage of the PKK comes from our Leader. The first target has always been our Leader. When our leadership is severely isolated and severed from society, if our movement remains without perspective, it becomes a military orientation to our movement. Because the enemy’s plan to liquidate and eliminate our movement is a long-term plan, and the attacks on our movement have been operating within the framework of this plan for years.”
Reminding that the Turkish state has attacked the Medya Defense Areas, where the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla’s take-up areas are located, both from the air and the land, day and night, for the last 6 years, Amed Manzikert emphasized that the invasion attacks in 2022 were as intense as the sum of all previous years.
WE FRINGED THEIR PLANS BY DON’T PASS THROUGH THE ZAP
Manzikert, one of the HSM commanders, who stated that the Turkish army developed its attack plan in 2022 based on the defeat and military coups it suffered for years against the guerrilla, continued: “During the attack on Avaşîn, Zap and Metina, the results were achieved in a short time and the attacks on the Kurdish people’s gains. they would start. If you notice, they brought up the attack on Rojavayê Kurdistanê as soon as the previous attacks started. They were saying, ‘When we complete the Zap, our next target will be Rojava’. However, in 2022, we did not allow the Turkish state in the Zap to pass this plan.”
Emphasizing that the Turkish army had been preparing for the attack last year for a long time, and that they received information from both the region and the local area, especially with the help of the MIT, Manzikert continued: launched a massive attack. This attack was carried out with more than 50 warplanes and more than 20 armed drones, howitzers, tanks and artillery. After bombarding the whole region with missiles and artillery for two days intensively and extensively, they calculated that they would get results by neutralizing our forces there and launching them from the air with Skorsky helicopters. However, they did not calculate the measures taken by the guerrilla.”
THEY APPLIED TO CHEMICALS WHEN THEY STRONG
In the continuation of his assessment, Amed Manzikert, one of the Headquarters Commanders of the People’s Defense Center (HSM), stated that the guerrilla did not allow the Turkish army to advance from many points, both from the air and from the ground, in the first few days of the war in Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn. Noting that the invading Turkish army forces, which were launched from the air at some points, remained hungry and thirsty for days due to the successful actions of the guerrilla against the helicopters, Manzikert said, “There are also images showing that the Turkish soldiers remained motionless without even moving a finger. Later, Hulisi Akar, who came to the region, allowed the use of chemical weapons, which were explicitly prohibited. To cover up their failures, they increased the scope and size of the attack. This time, they attacked the east of the Zap, in the region from Metîna to Girê Hekkkarî.
THE ZAP WAR CONTINUES VIOLENTLY
Reminding that the Turkish state has resorted to all kinds of chemical weapons in the Zap in front of the eyes of the world, disregarding the international agreements to which the Turkish state is a party, and that those who call itself ‘democrat’ and all forces do not oppose it, Malazirt, one of the commanders of the HSM, said, “The lack of reaction has further encouraged the Turkish state. But one day, the Turkish state will definitely give an account for these inhumane crimes it has committed against Kurdish youth,” he said. Noting that the guerrilla in Zap has been resisting for 9 months against the Turkish army, which defines itself as NATO’s second largest army and resorts to all kinds of means/methods, including banned weapons, Manzikert said that the war in Zap still continues without losing anything of its intensity.
Reminding that the Turkish army, which had suffered heavy losses in the face of the effective actions of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, had withdrawn from many areas, Manzikert said, “They were hit effectively at the point where they led, managed and coordinated the war in Martyr Kuncî, and they suffered heavy losses, including their senior commanders. However, there are still forces of the invading army at some points. For example, they still have power at the point we call Mam Reş of Sheladize”.
GUERILLA DISPLAYED A GREAT HERO WITH SCARCE FACILITIES
Stating that they have completed the ninth month of the Zap war and entered the tenth month, and that the war is still continuing fiercely in some places, Manzikert pointed out that the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla resisted with scarce means in this war, and said: “The Turkish state attacked our guerrilla forces with all the means at its disposal and waged this war. However, despite this, our friends thwarted these attacks with great self-sacrifice and courage. We should not forget that we also paid a great price in this war, and we lost many of our dear friends as martyrs. These friends fought in very harsh conditions.”
Manzikert, one of the HSM commanders, who made detailed evaluations about the heroism of the guerrillas named Rojda Rojhilat, Mizgîn Rojhelat, Viyan Botan, Dogan Jîrkî, Tîrêj Dijwar, Bager Gever, Nûrî Yekta, Amed, Helmet and Zerdeşt, who were martyred at different points of the Zap resistance, said: They fought with great courage like a legend against the colonialism of their state. In the person of these friends, we commemorate all martyrs of the revolution with respect and gratitude.”
HEAVY CONFLICT EXPERIENCES IN ÇEMÇO AND SİDA
Amed Manzikert shared the following information about the latest state of the war with the public: “Attacks are still continuing at the moment. They claim to get results, but that’s not true. In war, there is a situation like this; If you have completely occupied a place, it means that you have finished the counter forces there and there is no more contact there. In this case, you win the war. However, the attacks of the enemy still continue, there are clashes, this clearly shows that they were not successful in the operation they started in Zap. At some points, enemy forces and friends are intertwined. There are especially violent clashes in Çemço and Sîda. For example, the enemy has attacked a hill we call ‘Kara Çemço’ in Çemço for 9 months, using all the means at its disposal, but has still not been able to take this hill.”
Mentioning that guerrilla forces carry out actions against the invading forces in Çemço almost every day, Malazgirt said, “The enemy forces are currently using all banned chemical weapons against the Martyr Adil Hill in Sîda. Turkish state officials announced that the operation was complete. However, this is not true, we have entered a new year and the invasion operation of the Turkish state is still continuing,” he said.
CALL FOR ‘STRONG ORGANIZATION’ TO KURDISH YOUTH
Emphasizing that the war will intensify in 2023, Amed Manzikert, one of the HSM headquarters commanders, called on the Kurdish people and their friends as follows: “The Kurdish people and their friends should know the fact that the war will intensify this year. Especially wherever they are, whether in Bakur (Northern Kurdistan) or Bashur (South Kurdistan), the Kurdish forces must organize strongly, putting all the means at their disposal. Every Kurdish youth has experience in war, those who invade, oppress and persecute are obvious. They need to set targets and attack with these powers. Especially Kurdish youth should join the ‘Bazên Zagrosê’ and ‘Cenga Xabûr a Martyr War’ moves. Wherever they are, Kurdish youth should organize themselves like these breakthroughs and take effective actions. This is our hope from the Kurdish youth.”
