HEILBRONN – The 6-day Long March Action, to be held in Germany by Kurdish youth demanding freedom for the People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, started today as part of the “Werin Cenga Azadiyê” campaign.

STARTED FROM HEILBRONN

The Long March Action, organized by the youth in Heilbronn, Germany, with the slogan “We will ensure the physical freedom of Leader APO in the year of 2023 victory” has started. The young people who came together in the city of Heilbronn on Saturday (February 4) and were guests at the home of the Kurdistans at night gave the start of their march in the morning. Many young people from Austria, England, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany participated in the Long Walk.

LEADER APO TO THOSE WHO ARE WHO ARE UNTIL PHYSICAL LIBERATION

Gathering in Heilbronn Theresienwiese Square, the youth held a minute’s silence in memory of all Kurdistan Revolution Martyrs before the march. Speaking on behalf of the Co-Spokesperson of TCŞ, Zekiye Doğan drew attention to the heavy isolation on Leader APO and said, “As the youth, we will ensure the physical freedom of Leader APO and we will lead this struggle to victory. For more than 20 months, we have not heard a single word from Önder APO. We will always fight against such a fascist state. We will ensure the physical freedom of Leader APO and we will be a part of the resistance of the guerrilla resisting in Kurdistan.”

Then, Sait Öztürk on behalf of FedGel co-spokesperson and Gülistan Ateş on behalf of the women’s movement stated that the slogan ‘We started young, we will succeed young’ is not an ordinary slogan and that young people should participate in the spirit of the process.

WALKING TO ÖNDER APO IN FREEDOM VESTS

Young people, wearing vests with the picture of Leader Leader APO and the words “Freedom for Öcalan” on the back, enthusiastically started the Long March Action to the accompaniment of the song “Hey Zapê”

TODAY THEY WILL MARCH 17 MILES

Today, the young people who will continue the Long March in Heilbronn will travel approximately 16-17 km. The young people, who will continue their walks in the city center of Heilbronn today, will come together again this evening in the evening program at Heilbronn DKTM.

THE FIRST LONG WALK ACTION WAS 40 YEARS AGO FROM HANAU TO HANNOVER

The Long March Action was carried out for the first time in 1983 from Hanau and Hannover from two branches. The first march, which lasted 17 days, was held on September 12, after the pressure in the dungeons and the news of Mazlum Doğan’s martyrdom. At that time, oppression continued in Kurdistan and people were tortured every day. Martyrs Hozan Sefkan, Kasım Engin and Hozan Mizgîn also took part in this first Long March that took place 40 years ago.
