BEHDINAN – The PKK Executive Committee issued a written statement on the anniversary of the February 15 International Conspiracy against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Referring to the Mereş-centered earthquake in the committee statement, “We, as the Movement and the people, are living under the heavy influence of the Maraş-centered great earthquake, marking the 25th anniversary of the historic February 15 plot and the struggle against the conspiracy. The double catastrophe makes our pain even greater. On the one hand, we are mobilizing to alleviate the wounds caused by the earthquake disaster, and on the other hand, to defeat the international conspiracy completely in the 25th year. We feel the consequences of both disasters deeply in our brains and hearts, and we develop our freedom struggle on this basis by connecting both of them with each other.”
The committee’s statement continued:
On this basis, we once again share the pain of our people who suffered from the earthquake, the peoples of Turkey and Syria, and we condemn the historical February 15 plot on its 24th anniversary and respectfully salute the historical Imrali resistance and Leader Apo against the plot. We commemorate the heroic martyrs of the ‘You Can’t Darken Our Sun’ self-defense resistance, who created a fire barricade around Leader Apo, with respect and gratitude in the person of comrades Halit Oral and Aynur Artan, who started the resistance. In the 25th anniversary of the struggle against the conspiracy, we wish success to all those who are fighting for freedom and democracy. In the 25th year, we declare that we will liberate Leader Apo physically by shattering the walls of isolation and genocide in Imrali.
24 YEARS OF LEADERSHIP AND OUR STRUGGLE RESISTS GENOCIDE ATTACK
We know very well that the international conspiracy launched on October 9, 1998 aimed to destroy Leader Apo and, on this basis, to complete the Kurdish genocide by liquidating the PKK. This was basically an attack of the Kurdish genocidal mentality and politics aimed at annihilation and liquidation. In this context, it was an attack planned and implemented by the global capitalist modernity system, which predicted the Kurdish genocide, and the USA, England and Israel, which pioneered this system. It was aimed to complete the Kurdish genocide by destroying the free Kurdish existence and the Kurdish freedom movement in the person of Leader Apo. Otherwise, there was no other problem between Leader Apo and these forces. They carried out this attack only to complete the Kurdish genocide and inflicted heavy damage on the free Kurdish existence.
It is very clear that the October 9 plot was a one-day extermination plan, and it was foiled by Leader Apo and spread over 25 years. When their initial plans were unsuccessful, the international conspiracy forces tried new plans one after another and planned the February 15 conspiracy, predicting the execution of Leader Apo. When it was overturned, this time they envisioned a policy of refutation within the Imrali torture and isolation system. Such a policy has been in place for exactly 24 years. Leader Apo is wanted to be eliminated by rendering him incapable of working and thinking in a solitary cell and by imposing absolute lack of communication. This goal, which could not be achieved with the Ecevit government, is being tried to be achieved with the governments of Tayyip Erdoğan and the AKP-MHP fascism. The total attack under the absolute isolation of Imrali has spread to all dungeons, the Kurdish people, the peoples of Turkey, women and youth, other parts of Kurdistan and abroad,
For exactly 24 years, Leader Apo, the Movement and the people have been resisting such a total fascist, colonialist and genocidal attack. This quarter-century-old tough and historical resistance not only made the Kurdish people conscious and organized, but also made the Kurdish freedom struggle recognized by all the peoples, women and youth of the world. The great resistance of the Kurdish guerrilla and its people and the Rojava Freedom Revolution that developed on this basis created a new hope of liberation for all the oppressed and humanity.
THE ARCHITECT OF THE RESISTANCE IS LEADER ABDULLAH ÖCALAN
Undoubtedly, Leader Abdullah Öcalan was the architect and creator of this great and historical resistance for a quarter of a century. Leader Apo reached a new paradigm with the mentality and conscience revolution he realized in such a struggle, thus paving the way for salvation for all the oppressed. With the paradigm of a libertarian, ecological and democratic society, women broke away from the ruling and statist system and created a new life system based on free individuals and democratic communes. With the understanding of democratic nation and democratic confederalism he defined, he showed the way to solve all social problems. Thus, he brought his Leadership reality beyond the national and regional level to the global level. Leader Apo now leads all the oppressed and shows the way to salvation; He becomes the leader of all the oppressed and the peoples.
Undoubtedly, our heroic guerrilla forces gave Leader Apo the greatest support in such a struggle. The resistance of the sacrifice, which he carried out by giving tens of thousands of martyrs for years, ensured Leader Apo’s security and effectiveness. Especially in recent years, the great resistance developed in the Media Defense Areas, the historical resistance, which concentrated in the areas of Zap, Avaşin and Metina and did not allow AKP-MHP fascism, broke the attacks of the AKP-MHP fascism and disrupted all the renewed plans of the conspiracy. Undoubtedly, the greatest contribution to such a guerrilla resistance was made by the women’s resistance and freedom revolution, which spread from four parts of Kurdistan to the whole Middle East and the world, under the slogan of ‘Jin Jîyan Azadi’. Again, under the leadership of women and youth, the four parts of Kurdistan and abroad made the resistance of the Kurdish people and their friends, who struggled uninterruptedly.
THE END OF THE ROAD FOR AKP-MHP FACISM
Now, the conspiratorial attack in question is wanted to be continued by aggravating the isolation in the Imrali torture and genocide system, and by keeping the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship alive. The conspiratorial forces want to implement the Kurdish genocide mentality and politics on this basis. For this reason, AKP-MHP fascism is supported in many ways, and it is observed that it is already trying to benefit from the current earthquake disaster in this direction.
But in vain! It is now the end of the road for the international conspiracy and the AKP-MHP fascism. In fact, the end of the road has been reached for the hundred-year-old Kurdish genocidal mentality and politics. The 25th year struggle against the conspiracy will be strong enough to end all this. Neither NATO-Russian nor KDP support will be able to sustain AKP-MHP fascism. No one will be able to prolong the life of the fascist-genocidal mentality and politics. Neither the technical power it worships nor the effort to benefit from disasters such as earthquakes will not save AKP-MHP fascism.
Indeed, the 25th year of the struggle against international conspiracy and conspiracy seems to be pregnant with very important political developments in Kurdistan and Turkey. It is very clear that not only the eight-year ‘Plan of Precipitation’ and the 25-year international conspiracy, but also developments that will change the century-old Kurdish genocide system will occur. Because all of these were united in the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship and the fascist dictatorship in question came to the brink of destruction. The issue of election and management change in Turkey is just such an event. Neither the new war scenarios nor the emergency scenarios declared due to the earthquake will be sufficient to prevent such a change and keep the AKP-MHP fascism in power.
The 25th anniversary struggle against the conspiracy is such a struggle. This year’s struggle should not be confused with previous years. The struggle of the previous years created evolutionary progress, the struggle of the 25th year will lead to revolutionary development. The time has come, the Imrali torture and genocide system will be destroyed and Leader Apo’s physical freedom will be ensured. From now on, AKP-MHP fascism will be destroyed and the way to a ‘Free Kurdistan-Democratic Turkey’ will be opened. Imrali will no longer live together with the isolation and torture system and AKP-MHP fascism.
In that case, all our patriotic people and our revolutionary-democratic friends should know these features and goals of the 25th anniversary struggle and develop the struggle in every field accordingly. All kinds of guerrilla and popular resistance, legal and political struggle, propaganda and art activities should be of this character and on the basis of purpose. The AKP-MHP fascism must be destroyed, and the international conspiracy in its person and the genocidal mentality and politics that underpin it must be put to an end. The 25th anniversary struggle against the conspiracy should bring our people and humanity to a new light.
On these basis we once again condemns the international conspiracy, once again commemorates the heroic martyrs of the resistance against the conspiracy with respect, helping our people and friends to understand the characteristics and goals of the 25th anniversary struggle against the conspiracy correctly, and to make this year a great freedom revolution on the basis of the physical freedom of Leader Apo. We invite you to make it a year!”
