MELETÎ – The number of people who lost their lives after the earthquake is increasing day by day. As a result of the earthquake in Mereş, the surrounding provinces were primarily affected, but the state has not intervened even though three days have passed since the earthquake.
As can be seen in the following photos from the Doğanşehir district of Meletî, despite the many collapsed houses, no work is being done to get people out of the rubble and to recover the bodies.
Many people are still trapped under the rubble, many of them lost their lives, but even those who lost their homes and all their belongings due to the earthquake are now struggling with the freezing cold. It has been reported that those staying outside have died from the cold.
Multiple organizations, NGOs and society itself are trying to help the people trapped under the rubble by mobilizing on the basis of their solidarity and going to the earthquake areas. They are doing their best with the power of social solidarity, but the state and its institutions have not taken any action.
