STRASBOURG – Young members of TCŞ (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger) and TekoJIN (Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer) are protesting at the European Parliament building in Strasbourg, France, demanding the physical freedom of People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Civil disobedience action is being carried out under the leadership of the members of TCŞ and TekoJIN, since the European Parliament, which remained silent on the aggravated isolation imposed on Leader APO for 25 years by the Turkish state, and did not implement its decisions. The youth, who went over the walls with the posters of Leader APO and the PKK flags, continued their protest despite all the obstacles.

The youth, who made a statement regarding their actions, demanded that the isolation policy applied to Leader APO be ended as soon as possible. The explanation given is as follows:
“For 25 years, Leader APO Imrali has been held captive in the torture system. This captivity is a state of captivity that is desired to be imposed on all Kurdish people. Önder APO is never allowed to meet with his lawyers and family. The so-called ‘European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) ignores the inhumane treatment in Imrali. The European Parliament does not implement its decisions. Parliament does not mobilize the CPT. With this action, we, the Kurdish youth, are stating that Europe should abandon this dirty policy towards Leader APO. Until we hear from Leader APO and his physical freedom is achieved, the European states will be our target and our actions will continue. Here we announce it to all the press and the public. No matter what it takes, we will never deviate from the path that Leader APO has opened for us and we will continue our existence with Leader APO’s paradigm. Leave your illegal politics. The Kurdish people will not bow to you. We condemn this conspiracy that took place 25 years ago. We will do everything to ensure the physical freedom of Leader APO. We are calling out to all Kurdistan youth from here, let’s get together around Leader APO. Let’s ensure the physical freedom of Leader APO.”
