The Botan area is one of the first areas where the Apoist movement started its guerrilla struggle. Knowing that Botan’s meeting with the guerrilla and opening these areas to guerrilla struggle would lead to an irreversible historical flow, the Turkish state made every possible attack and provocation to prevent the Apoist movement from entering Botan. However, he could not prevent this and the Apoist movement flooded into Botan, and the deep-rooted patriotism that had sprouted in Botan spread to all parts of our country, Kurdistan.
Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz), our immortal great commander, who started the guerrilla in Botan and organized the Apoist movement and struggle step by step, became a comrade. One of the first areas that Comrade Egîd organized in Botan was Besta. Located in the middle of the Botan geography, the Besta region is one of the most suitable places for guerrilla activities with its dense trees, unlimited springs, seasonal conditions suitable for guerrilla activities, mild winters, early spring, and a detailed terrain with many indentations and protrusions. has been. The opening of Besta to the plains via Cudî, to Merdîn via Gabar, to Garzan via Herekol, to Heftanîn via Kêla Memê and to zozans via Katos has made it a central location. The Apoist movement, which recognized this position of Besta early on, He chose Besta as a basic base to develop guerrillaism. For this reason, Commander Egîd personally organized our people in the Besta region, talked one by one, explained our struggle for existence and freedom, and won the hearts of the people of Botan with his word, stance and majesty, and made them loyal supporters of the Apoist movement.
The first village organized by Commander Egîd in Besta was the village of Xirbikê Bestê, located in the middle of Besta. Xirbikê Bestê village, which was established on the slope of Mêrgûmar Hill, welcomed Commander Egîd and his comrades, became patriotic early, provided all kinds of assistance, and showed great sacrifice and included his most valuable sons in the Apoist movement. In this sense, the village of Xirbikê Bestê became one of the villages that pioneered patriotism in Besta and Botan. Many friends from Xirbikê Bestê fought relentlessly in the ranks of the freedom struggle, displayed examples of great heroism, had their names written as great valiants in our struggle history, and left unforgettable traces. The village of Xirbikê Bestê, like many patriotic villages in Kurdistan, suffered the wrath of the genocidal Turkish state, was burned down and devastated. villagers were driven from their homelands. However, the people of Xirbikê Bestê never accepted this, did not leave their homeland, settled in Şirnex and continued their patriotic struggle.
Our comrade Soro Gabar was born in Sirnex as a member of a society with such a historical background. He grew up in a patriotic family with the deep-rooted culture and consciousness of the Kurdish society. He grew up listening to the echoes of the heroic stories of the valiant guerrillas in the Botan Mountains in Sirnex, learning and personally witnessing the state’s oppression. While his father was a militiaman and helped the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla with great sacrifice in 2005, he was arrested by the Turkish state and put in prison. Our comrade Soro and his family, who grew up with state pressure on the one hand and economic difficulties on the other, took all kinds of hardships and paid a price, but never compromised their patriotic stance. Our comrade Soro, who saw the persecution of his family, environment and the people of Kurdistan by the genocidal Turkish state,
Our comrade Soro, who was a guerilla in the fields of Besta, Metîna and Heftanîn, gained guerrilla experience early on. In order to become a professional guerrilla, he received specialization training at the military academy and successfully completed the training process. With the fascist gangs left by Al Qaeda attacking our people, our comrade Soro also went to Rojava to fight. Comrade Soro, who puts his people and his comrades above everything else, was a brave and self-sacrificing comrade who could make every sacrifice to protect the sacred values.
After our comrade Soro joined the guerrilla, his sister and 3 more brothers joined the party. Coming from a noble and patriotic family, our comrades followed each other and acted with the duty of fighting in the freedom struggle of our people. These comrades, who are passionately devoted to their people, country and freedom, have fought everywhere with great courage and self-sacrifice. Our comrade Botan Besta (Sedîq Ötun), the brother of our comrade Soro, joined the Kobanê Resistance in 2014, acting with a spirit of great mobilization, in the face of ISIS fascism’s attack on Kobanê with the support of the Turkish state. He took part in the resistance as one of the great fighters of the Kobanê Resistance turning into a great victory for our people and the beginning of the end of DAESH, and achieved martyrdom by fighting heroically. Our comrade Devran Soro (Kadir Ötun) started a resistance to protect his people and the lands he was born in during a period when the Turkish state attacked the city centers to carry out genocide on the basis of the “Plan of Collapse”. Our comrade Devran, one of the pioneers of the Sirnex Self-Government Resistance, took part in the formation of the Sirnex YPS, gave great efforts, and fought heroically in this resistance process with his high courage and self-sacrificing stance. Our comrade Soro Gabar assumed more responsibility with the martyrdom of both of his brothers, and waged a stronger struggle to achieve the goals of the martyrs and to take their revenge. He has been an exemplary commander who sets a precedent for all his comrades with his hardworking personality, sincere comradeship, measured stance, high courage and military concentration in every work he has been involved in. Our comrade Soro has come to the fore with his Apoist militancy virtues, and he has undertaken important party duties that require high trust and attention. He knew how to successfully fulfill all the tasks he undertook. Our comrade Soro Gabar Kendal Alan (Metin Akgül) and Serdem Reşit (Muhammed Yıldız) died together with our comrades as a special unit in the enemy attack that took place while they were on duty.
Our comrades Botan, Devran and Soro wrote their names in our history of struggle as three brothers who became martyrs by fighting fearlessly and selflessly for the freedom of our country and our people. These comrades, who are the symbol of Besta’s bravery, have been the most distinguished examples of the strong patriotism of the Botan people and the noble sons they raised. We express our condolences to our esteemed patriotic family, the people of Botan, and all the people of Kurdistan, who have once again raised such valiant children.”
