NEWS CENTER – I don’t know where to begin, it’s like you’re standing in front of me right now and I want to tell you about him. I want to start with his bright, excited, fun-loving look when we first met. It was my first time in Şikefte. There was tremendous work and sacrifice from all sides and your enthusiasm, the group and Comrade Delil, the mad wind of this group, Comrade Delil, who was the dashing and exciting spirit of this group…
We first knew him as Delil, a name our Hevals gave him because it resembled our great commander, Delil Doğan. The first thing that struck us all about him was that he lived his commitment to the organization, to the chairman, in all areas of his life and the depth that that created in his eyes spilled into life with shining eyes.
We learned to read and write in the organization. The first book we read together was called Give My Mother A Rose. It was about Ş. kendal As I read the book, I thought of how similar his character was to Comrade Kendal, I told him that when I left. He made us all feel that he would be a strong and pioneering commander like him, with his attitude to life, his sacrifice, his hevaltî with the women and so was he, comrade Tofan.
Yes when I went to HPG they said we could ask for you as Tofan. You became Tofan after the last moment of farewell. Although we couldn’t see you after that, I remember the messages we received about your wonderful Hevaltî from Hevals who saw and got to know you, with the sentences you said about the feeling of longing in the PKK is like nowhere else. You said that you miss your Hevals even when you’re in the PKK with them.
It had been a while since I had seen the news of your joining the Fedaî caravan; you had given yourself a new name, Vorin, and your swift and determined progress in the marathon of life toward becoming our Chairman had increased our power as Hevals. 4. April; You defined the Chairman’s birthday as our reason for living, your feelings and emotions were always pure, clean, sincere and always belonged to you.
The brave warrior of Kurdistan, the son of Amed, who bore the blood of Numan Amed, Çiyager, the Fedaîs, who wrote their names in history and who swore to be their successor. Raqib, whose name is the first word of the anthem of us Kurds, your quest for freedom began from the first moment. You grew up in a welatparêz family and first your brother Welat, our Heval and then your sister led you into the open mountains. Your account of your memories with your sister was an expression for us of where you laid the foundation for your sensitive and sincere Hevaltî with your friends. Your connection to the land is hidden in your childhood memories of the grazing sheep in the Zozans of Amed.
You have reached the secret of the PKK, you have reached the Hevaltî, the secret of the PKK. Your feelings have always been very strong and we were all surprised when they came true after you shared with us how you feel. We have always wondered how one can feel so deeply. If something happens to a Hevals somewhere, you immediately feel and share it. Also, the fear would cover your whole body, your eyes. That’s the fear of losing a Heval. Because we have always known and said that we have no one but us and our Hevals. It was our Hevaltî that bound us to the mountains, that made us fall in love with freedom, that made us lovers. Therefore we have sworn to be the Fedaî of Rêber APO, the creator of this sacred bond,
You carried within you all the qualities of a self-sacrificing fighter that Rêber APO defined and we could see that in every moment of your life. Above all, your sacrifice; no one could pick up and carry anything out of fear. You would immediately jump up and say “heval” and shoulder all the burdens. You would finish the work you have in hand so quickly and nimbly just to catch up with another Heval to finish it and help them. You took part in life with lively enthusiasm, always in a good mood and with great enthusiasm. You were the spirit of life and of Hevaltî. Your smile would never leave your face, all would be united, the laughter of all your hevals would mingle with your laughter. The fact, that first and foremost you had a sensitive and responsible attitude towards your hevals, towards everything and everyone in life, and that you thought of your hevals first and foremost made the bond even stronger. Once, when enemy reconnaissance planes were circling overhead, you knew we were thirsty and you risked everything and returned with water in hand. We can’t be mad at you. When we asked you why you did that, you could have been shot, but the deep devotion in your eyes kept us from getting angry. Because when you heard a Heval needed something, you were always willing to do your best to give it to them, no matter what. made the bond even stronger. In the morning every Rojbaş-Heval was with you before sunrise. You loved watching the sunrise. Every day, every day, you woke up and watched the sunrise without anyone holding a rojbaş in front of you, ignoring the tiredness of the previous day. It was like being reborn with every sunrise. All your hevals admired that self-discipline. You have brought about great changes and transformations in yourself in a short time. You were a fighter who was always ready to fight anything. Just hearing the word war gets you excited and you can’t stand still. Nobody had the power to stop you at that moment. Because you lived every moment with a sense of vengeance. When your hevals asked you 3 things you were happy about you said the first was when you found out you were going to war. Second: When I heard that I was going to Bakur, you said that you wanted to be a guerrilla in the northern mountains of Amed and Dersim. Thirdly, you said that you get very excited when you travel to a new country. Every moment of life was exciting for you. The emotions and feelings within you never grew old, they always stayed alive and new. That’s why you were excited every moment. And Heval, you always said that you will never forget the first moments and they always matter. If you describe the first Heval you saw, the first step you took from your village to join the PKK, when you had the first experiences, you would say that nothing you experience in the PKK , a repetition is, we always seem to experience something new. Because you experienced every moment and every time vividly.
Throughout our history in the PKK, we have repeatedly experienced historic times, historic resistance and historic moments. You took your place in these historical pages of the resistance very early on. In the historical resistance of 2022, you became the heval of all hevals who wrote their names in the historical pages of the resistance of the PKK. You will have thousands of followers who will fight as guerrillas in the mountains of Dersim and Amed, this is your dream. In these mountains we will march to victory with the band of Hevaltî you left in us. Any young person who hears your life story and gets to know you will want to take part in the PKK’s hevaltî by giving your direction to the guerrilla ranks, will take your name Vorin and learn your spirit, your Hevaltî, your smile, your looks, your devotion, pure and clean as children and will want to share in the truth. It is difficult and nice at the same time to get to know you, the heval of all hevals, who want Kurdistan’s victory, a free life and have devotedly fought for it, and to be able to describe you just a little bit.
The more you tell, the stronger the bond of Hevaltî becomes, like the title and main theme of your first poem. You called your poem “Heval of my heart”. You described the mountains, the water, the wind, love, you said these are the companions of your heart. That was your first work. The excitement covered your whole body again. You didn’t know how to describe it, how to write it. Again you shared and wrote down your feelings with your simplest and most sincere feelings. Like all of us, you didn’t like goodbyes, but saying goodbye to every heval was like a promise of success to you. Everywhere you go, you would participate in all places of life stronger and more self-sacrificing than before.
