STUTTGART – Yesterday, Thursday, February 2nd, young people from the internationalist, Maoist and Kurdish youth movement met in the Stadtgarten Stuttgart and made a declaration of solidarity with the Tamil population on the occasion of the founding of the state of Sri Lanka.
During the statement, a communist and a Tamil national flag were also displayed during a green, red, yellow flag.
They stated that on the anniversary of the independence of the Tamil state on February 4th, as internationalist, Kurdish and Maoist youth, they express their solidarity with the Tamil people and their resistance. They explained that just as the establishment of the Turkish Republic unleashed a new wave of persecution and genocide against the Kurds, Sri Lanka’s independence brought about an unprecedented reality of persecution and oppression of the Tamil population.
They declared: “It is clear to us that all progressive struggles in the world must unite in order to finally liberate all the oppressed and exploited from the yoke of imperialism. Therefore, we stand firmly with the Tamil people and believe that the resistance of their guerrillas, the Tamil Tigers, will be reborn and lead to victory.”
The youth concluded their speech with the words “Hail International Solidarity” and “Tamil Tigers Freedom Fighters”
