NEWS CENTER – The invading Turkish state continues its invasion attacks against Rojavayê Kurdistan and Bakur and Rojhilatê Syria without interruption. YPJ fighter Adar Fedaî spoke to our agency and stated that they will protect their lands against all forms of invasion, and on this basis, every young woman should take their place in the YPJ ranks.
“My name is Adar Fedai. As a YPJ fighter, I joined the YPJ, impressed by its stance and self-sacrifice. This is how I joined the YPJ ranks.
The invasion attacks of the fascist Turkish state against Bakur and Rojhilatê Syria continue intensively. Against this, YPJ takes its place in the forefront with its stance, participation, preparations, will, courage and resistance. On this basis we have preparations. As YPJ fighters, we are ready. We are ready to defend our lands against any possible attack.
The male-dominated mentality used to say that women cannot raise arms or fight, they only do housework. As YPJ fighters, we defeated the male-dominated mentality. We showed this in our fight against ISIS. The YPJ’s struggle against ISIS has shown that women are not just a household chores. YPJ showed the whole world that even a housewife can use weapons, fight, take part in the forefront and engage in politics. We showed this to everyone and YPJ became an expression of this with its stance. That’s why no one can say that women can’t use weapons or fight anymore. The proof of this has been presented. ISIS, which no one could finish, was defeated under the leadership of the YPJ.
Again in Rojhilatê Kurdistan, the YPJ had an influence on the serhildans that started with the slogan “Jin Jiyan Azadî”. This led to the development of the revolution and the emergence of serhildans. YPJ fighters had influence. This revolution must continue, not stop. If the sea overflows somewhere, no one can stand in front of it. As women, we flow like water and no one can stand in our way or stop us. This sacrifice and courage cannot be stopped. That’s why the serhildans that started with the slogan “Jin Jiyan Azadi” in Rojhilatê Kurdistan should not stop and get stronger. This is a source of strength and morale among us YPJ fighters. Today, not only in Rojavayê Kurdistan, but also in Rojhilat and other areas, women stand against the male-dominated power with their stance, leadership and courage and do not bow their heads. This needs to continue. The woman shows this with her own stance. It is the power of the woman who leads, guides, and achieves victory.
On this basis, our call to all young women is that “Come join the YPJ ranks,” let’s enlarge and strengthen the struggle together. Let’s not let anyone dominate us. Let’s not let anyone impose a 5,000-year-old mentality on us. That’s why all young women should steer towards the YPJ ranks and seek freedom and meaningful life here.”
