BEHDINAN – Eastern Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK) Commander Şiyar Şevger evaluated the developments in 2022, the resistance of the guerrilla forces, the massacre in Paris, the capital of France, and the serhildans in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran to the ANF.
Emphasizing that 2022 was a year full of heroism and resistance, Şiyar Şevger also drew attention to the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who was held captive by the Turkish state in İmralı. Stating that the isolation in Imrali is unprecedented in the world, YRK Commander Şiyar Şevger said, “Such isolation, which does not fit into the laws of humanity, is not even in the laws of the colonialists. The resistance and struggle of our people in all four parts of Kurdistan against this isolation continued in 2022 as well. Because both our people and the peoples of the Middle East see their freedom in Leader Apo’s freedom.
Despite all the technological equipment and superiority of the enemy, a unique resistance was given in Behdinan. The truth is this; The colonial fascist state was defeated in 2022 by the Apoist movement. I commemorate with respect and gratitude those who were martyred by fighting heroically in 2022. We will carry their resistance, will and faith to victory,” he said.
IT IS A SHAME FOR FRANCE THAT THE MASSACRE IS NOT CLEAR
Emphasizing that two massacres took place in Paris, the capital of France, 10 years apart, YRK Commander Şiyar Şevger said, “On January 9, 2013, three Kurdish female revolutionaries were murdered. Heval Sara (Sakine Cansız), who was one of the martyrs that day, led the women’s struggle in the Middle East with the philosophy of Leader Apo, and that’s why she was the target. It is also a shame for the French state that this massacre has not come to light. 10 years after the January 9 massacre, three more Kurdish revolutionaries and patriots were murdered. This massacre took place in order to weaken the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people with the cooperation of the Turkish state and France.”
Şiyar Şevger, who stated that as YRK, they have equipped themselves ideologically and militarily in 2022, continued: “We are in line with the spirit of the new era and the modern guerrilla style, within the framework of Leader Apo’s paradigm; We have prepared ourselves against all kinds of attacks by the colonial powers in Kurdistan. We are ready for any development in 2023, especially in Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan).”
WE APPROACH WITH prudence in line with the interests of our people
Reminding the long-standing ceasefire with the Iranian state, YRK Commander Şiyar Şevger said, “We, within the framework of this ceasefire and our strategy, approached the colonial power in our country with common sense and took no action. But the Iranian regime carried out operations in many regions. In Shaha, Mukriyan and Meriwan, they tried to test our patience by attacking our friends with different methods in the areas where our friends were. However, we are a movement with will and faith, we act in accordance with the interests of our people, we organize ourselves. For this reason, we have taken a patient approach to the turmoil caused by the Iranian regime in the areas undertaken by our friends.
The attacks of the Iranian regime will not be in the interest of Rojhilat and the Iranian people, the regime should understand this well. On the other hand, in this period of resistance, Besic (paramilitary forces), village guards and collaborationist forces should no longer be on the side of the colonialists. Today, there is war in four parts of Kurdistan, because of the high mountains of Kurdistan, colonial powers are putting Besic forces and other collaborator/traitor forces into action.”
WARNING ON RING CONTRACTS
In the continuation of his evaluation, Şevger pointed out that the Iranian state tried to strike a blow to its own forces in 2022 with different ways and methods, and drew attention to the following: “They sent counter forces to the areas where our friends were located. These contras held talks with the public on our behalf. Kurdistan guerrillas and Rojhilat guerrillas are known for their measure, morality and culture. Therefore, our people should be able to distinguish between us and the contras.”
Reminding that the Turkish state carried out many attacks against the Rojhilat guerrillas in 2022 with the cooperation of Iran, YRK Commander Şiyar Şevger continued: “The attacks of the Turkish state warplanes continued uninterruptedly, especially in Asos, our takeover area. Heval Ruken was martyred in the field of Shaho. Our friend Ruken, who is an Arab, turned his direction to the Shaho mountains for the freedom of women and peoples. Heval Ruken was a friend of poise and measure. In addition, our friends Rêzan, Bawer, Serhed and Sîrwan were martyred in the attacks of the Turkish state. We commemorate our martyred friends from Bakur, Rojava and Rojhilat with respect and gratitude.
Our century is the century of change and transformation. The Iranian regime must also make changes. The existing system no longer has a counterpart in society. The people of Rojhilat want to live with the Iranian peoples, but the Iranian regime resorts to a policy of denial against all peoples. If Iran changes this policy and laws, it will become the most progressive and developed state in the Middle East, as our Leader said in his defence. However, if it cannot make these changes, the Middle East will be in constant crisis, because Iran is the key state in the region.
DO NOT TAKE BACK STEPS IN THE RESISTANCE
Şiyar Şevger stated that the people will have to make the changes that the Iranian regime could not make, and that the people will carry out the revolution, even if the costs are heavy. YRK Commander Şevger made the following calls to the Iranian regime in this regard, giving important warnings: “The regime should understand this well; If they go against the people with massacres, the people will have to defend themselves. The peoples of Rojhilat and Iran gave many martyrs in 2022. Nearly 500 martyrs have been given so far, and after this time, no steps should be taken back. In addition, Rojhilat and Iranian youth must fight together, organize jointly, and educate themselves according to the defense of society. I emphasize again; Our resisting people should not step back and increase their resistance even more in 2023. We will organize stronger in 2023 and we will increase our struggle even more.”
