ATHENS – A demonstration has been organized in the Greek capital Athens against the fascist group of right-wing extremists, who have dubbed themselves “Golden Dawn”, the name of their party, and visit the memorial to the soldiers who died in the 1996 IMIA island crisis in the street wanted, where the Turkish consulate is also located.
Thanks to the solidarity of many Welatparêzer, left, socialist, communist and anarchist groups, including members of Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ), the visit of the fascist group could be prevented by occupying the monument.
Thousands of anti-fascist youth took part in the action and expressed their pride to be part of this solidarity, recalling that Greece played an important role in the international conspiracy against Rêber APO and that the Golden Dawn party was in power at the time . While declaring that the party, which has been out of power since then, will not be able to stand as a candidate in the future and is on the verge of being put on the terror list, they also informed about the Long March, which will start from Lavrio in Greece and invited all Greeks and friends of Kurdish society to the three-day Long March under the slogan “For freedom Reber APOs, come to the fight for freedom”, organized under this motto. The action lasted about four hours and ended with strong resistance to the racist group’s attacks on the demonstration from the forecourt of the Turkish Consulate in Athens to Syntagma Square.
