KOBANE – The calendars showed September 15, 2014. In fact, it wasn’t even dawn. Dark clouds are moving over a city of resistance that will resonate with the world. ISIS gangs that occupied Mosul, Shengal, Raqqa and Tabqa began to attack the city of Kobanê from three sides. The Turkish state was simultaneously opening training camps for gangs on the border lines and giving attack training. A new concept for Rojava and the Kurds, the smallest part of Kobanê-centered Kurdistan, was introduced.
12 BECOME AND LEADING RESISTANCE
At around 3:00 pm, ISIS gangs landed in the village of Serzûrî, 37 km from Kobanê city centre. ISIS gangs were trying to reach both areas more easily by taking the strategic place Serzûri and dividing Kobanê into two. However, they failed to do so. Because 12 young Kurdish volunteers had shown the way of resistance that would extend to Baxoz. Fedaice had shown the whole world that by pulling the pins of their own bombs, they would not bow down and that the Kurdish people would win by resisting. This self-sacrificing resistance has given everyone great strength and morale, and now everyone has challenged the tanks with their individual weapons or whatever they have got their hands on. They blocked the progress of the dark clouds.
TURNED INTO BORDER RESISTANCE
This resistance, which lasted for days, spread in waves all over Kurdistan. The insensitivity and support to the ISIS attacks would bring the anger of the Kurds and their friends to those who receive them. In Northern Kurdistan, under the leadership of young people and women, the Kurds turned their direction to the Kobanê border. As the hours and minutes passed, more and more people were coming and connecting with the resistance on the other side of the border. The fascist Turkish government and army, which established training camps for the gangs on the border lines, attacked the mass. But no one is backing down. Relentless epics were written against the ISIS gangs on the upper side of the border and the fascist supporters on the lower side. Watches are being held, and two borders of Kurdistan are resisting with zılgıts.
RESISTANCE EXCEEDED THE LIMITS OF KURDISTAN
The actions were not limited to Kurdistan. From Russia to America, from Europe to Africa, in short, all over the world, Kurds and their friends have stood up against the international insensitivity in the attack on Kobanê and the support given by international forces to ISIS, and carried the resistance to the whole world. Everyone was not leaving the areas with the magic of resistance instilled by the sacrifice displayed in Kobanê, and they were holding protests with great anger against the invasion and massacres.
ERDOĞAN’S STATEMENT ‘KOBANÊ WILL FALL’
President of the AKP, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said on 7 October 2014 in Antep, “Currently, Kobanê is also falling”. These statements increased the anger of the people living in Kurdistan cities, especially Bakûre Kurdistan. Tens of thousands of Kurdistanis flocked to the areas to protest ISIS’ attacks and Erdogan’s rhetoric. The fascist government, which did not tolerate resistance, again had its army and Hizbulkontra gang members attack the demonstrations. More than 50 people lost their lives in these attacks. This serhildan, which went down in history as the ‘6-8 October events’, brightened the historical torch of resistance in Kobanê.
WAS BOOKED, STORED, FILMED
The Historical Kobanê Resistance, admired by the whole world, has been the subject of countless news stories, stories, poems, books, documentaries and films. Writers, journalists, intellectuals and directors from all over the world were interested and everyone flocked to Kobanê. This continues to this day. There are hundreds of products that can explain the sacrifice resistance in Kobanê in tens of languages that nobody knows the number of until now.
VICTORY DISTURBED SOMEONE
With the victory, the Turkish state started a process called the ‘Kobanê Case’ and launched a rush of arrests against those who supported the resistance. The Historical Kobanê Resistance and Victory, which started the process of ending ISIS, is now being tried by Turkish justice. The Turkish state, which did not succeed in its goal and saw that it suffered losses on the contrary, wants to cover up the historical defeat they suffered by attacking those who support the Kobanê resistance. They want to squeeze the resistance into four walls by throwing hundreds of Kurds, which they could not end with any kind of attack, to prisons.
WHAT HAPPENED IN KOBANÊ TODAY
In fact, the Turkish state, which was defeated by the historical Kobanê Victory, was not limited to arrests. Crowned with victory, he took action to render this resistance, which is an example and an epic for the whole world, meaningless. With the MIT agents in the region, Kobanê people are trying to get money, drugs, prostitution, etc. He seeks to make the resistance meaningless by combining informants with immoral practices. The Turkish state has accelerated these efforts especially in the last two and a half years.
‘WE WILL ENTER’ AFTER 8 YEARS
The fascist Turkish state, which failed in this plan in the successful operations of the security forces in Northern and Eastern Syria against MIT cells, is now threatening to attack Kobanê to take revenge from the place where the defeat process of ISIS began. This fascist government, led by Erdoğan, who drew the scenario of this process on November 13, 2022, threatens to annex Kobanê, which it attacks almost every day.

Kobanê movie will be broadcast on TV
The movie ‘Kobanê’ will be broadcast for the first time on Ronahî TV and Stêrk TV on 28 January at 20:00 at Rojava time on the 8th anniversary of the liberation of Kobanê. On January 27, it will be on Medya Haber and Jin TV screens.
The film was previously screened in Northern and Eastern Syria’s cities of Reqa, Tabqa, Qamîşlo, Rimelan, Germany’s capital Berlin, Dresden, Kiel, Cologne, Mannheim, Essen, Saarbrucken, Bochum, Leverkusen and in Marseille, France.
It met with the audience for the first time every day for a week (between 20-26 September 2022), at the Baqi Xido Culture and Art Center in Kobanê. The film tells about the Kobanê Resistance, the first defeat of ISIS gangs in Syria and Iraq in 2014-2015.
