BEHDÎNAN – The guerrilla Helmet Viyan is one of the 11 guerrillas who fell on November 5, 2022 in the Zap area as a result of attacks by the occupying Turkish state with chemical weapons Şehîd. Şehîd Helmet Viyan comes from the Caf tribe rooted in the Silêmanî region of southern Kurdistan and was related to Şehîd Viyan Soran, who was a member of the PKK Reconstruction Committee and set herself on fire against the ongoing conspiracy against Rêber APO.
Şehîd Helmet Viyan has joined the guerrilla ranks with the influence of Şehîd Viyan Soran.
Before Şehîd Helmet Viyan Şehîd fell, he spoke in a conversation about Viyan Soran’s fight for women, which was primarily aimed at the people from southern Kurdistan. Şehîd Helmet’s statements were recorded on video and published today by the ANF news agency. In the video, Şehîd Helmet Viyan made the following statements:
“In the person of Heval Viyan, we commemorate all Şehîds of the revolution and repeat our promise to them. I met Heval Viyan in my childhood. I knew someone from the family had joined, but I had no information on the level of their action.
In 2013, I began my research on Heval Viyan, or rather, I specifically wondered why a southern woman took such a radical action on behalf of the Chairman. After that I understood that Heval Viyan’s action was radical and after that we met the chairman.
Heval Viyan’s action is a line for us. Heval Viyan gave a great message to the enemy with her action saying “Whatever happens we will go to Imrali to the candle”. Heval Viyan’s action has given a message to all members of the organization that they are ready for the Chairman at any time and hour.
That’s how I got to know Heval Viyan. That’s how I looked for her letters. A woman from the South had not previously done such an action, so it always made me curious about where this power came from. But then I understood at the time that Heval Viyan has great value within the organization.
The martyrdom of Heval Viyan is a great martyrdom. Heval Viyan was able to give the enemy a radical response and make society understand what the situation was. Therefore, to this day, it is the duty of everyone to investigate the martyrdom of Heval Viyan. Heval Viyan has great value within the organization as well as within society. That’s why Heval Viyan says, for example, “Forgetting is treachery.” We will not forget Heval Viyan either and will follow in their footsteps.
In her letters there is a part where she asks the family to pick up their gun. At that time, I knew that no one had taken up arms from Heval Viyan before. I couldn’t reconcile that with my conscience. My joining the ranks of the guerrillas took place on this basis. Heval Viyan’s action is to let the enemy know that every member of this organization is so strongly linked to the Chairman. The enemy in this situation wants to separate the company from the chairman. But let the enemy know that this organization has the blood of Heval Viyan and Heval Zilan.
How many years have passed since the martyrdom of Heval Viyan and the conspiracy against the Chairman. With the legacy of Heval Viyan, we can implement the Chairman’s freedom. We can do this even more and up the fight even more, freeing the Chairman and standing up for the legacy of Heval Viyan, we swear.
My research on Heval Viyan was late, this is the place for a self-criticism for me. Heval Viyan comes from the Caf tribe and is a resident of Silêmanî. She has called the society in the south. On this basis, the southern society and her tribe and family should stand up for and be worthy of Heval Viyan in a strong way. On this basis, strengthen their links with the ranks of the guerrillas. Today society should give the message that yesterday Viyan and today we raise this weapon. We should take revenge for the Şehîds. Today everyone knows what kind of situation the south is in. There is a great hopelessness, they should not embrace that hopelessness and instead rebel against the enemy. How many more years will this go on? If the end is death
Violence and repression are not our solution. Southern society has a sacred history, they should continue their history. Southern society has not surrendered to the Baas regime and should not surrender now. I wish everyone success.”
