QERS – In Kaxizman (Kagizman) district of Qers (Kars) the funeral and mass participation of the welatparêz population took place for Abdurrahman Kızıl, who together with KCK Executive Council member Emine Kara (Evîn Goyî) and Kurdish artist Mîr Perwer (Mehmet Şirin Aydın ) was murdered in the armed attack in the French capital Paris on December 23. DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, HDP MPs Sait Dede and Remziye Tosun, Kızıl’s family took the body from Qers Harakani Airport to Kaxizman, accompanied by many people.
OBSTACLE TO THE TRANSPORTATION OF THE BODY
As the Qers Municipality did not provide a funeral vehicle for the family, an ambulance from the Panos Municipality was brought to the airport. However, the police, under the pretext of official documents, prevented the funeral from being carried out with an ambulance. The family then took the body away from the airport in a closed-back pickup truck. The body of Kızıl was taken to Qeregûnî village in Kaxizman district in a convoy of hundreds of vehicles.
Soldiers and police blocked the entire village where the funeral was to take place and prevented part of the convoy from entering the village. Despite all the obstacles, the body reached the village. Kızıl was buried in the village cemetery after performing religious rituals. The police who came to the cemetery prevented journalists from taking photos and videos.
KURDISH SOCIETY WILL NEVER GIVE IN
DBP co-chair Saliha Aydeniz recalled that Abdurrahman Kızıl has been in exile for years:“Kurds are either arrested, massacred or exiled. When Kurds are murdered, they are not even allowed to be buried according to their religious beliefs. We weren’t even allowed to conduct our funerals according to Islamic rules. Everyone should know that Abdurrahman Kızıl is Şehîd of Kurdish society. We will be the followers of his struggle and aspirations. Despite this persecution, Kurdish society will never back down. The French government must uncover the real killers of Kizil. If they don’t disclose this, the French government will be responsible for this massacre. The French government must uncover those behind this attack and treat the attack as a terrorist attack.”
After the speech, people chanted slogans like “Şehîd Namirin”. People left the village and made their way to the condolence house in the city center.
