BEHDINAN – PKK Central Committee Member Helin Ümit made a statement about MLKP members Zeki Gürbüz and Özgür Namoğlu who were martyred.
The statement said:
“We learned with sadness that Comrade Zeki Gürbüz, a member of the Central Committee of the Marxist Leninist Communist Party (MLKP) fell a martyr as a result of an enemy attack in the Rojava revolution area. We express that we share the pain of MLKP Central Committee members and all MLKP friends with our revolutionary feelings for Comrade Zeki and Özgür Namoğlu, who was martyred together. .
As the PKK, we state that we will avenge the revolutionaries and continue to hold the enemies of the revolution accountable.
Comrade Zeki was one of our first revolutionary friends to come to the mountains of Kurdistan. When he came, the revolutionaries of Turkey and Kurdistan had not yet realized their historical alliance. The journey that Comrade Zeki started to the mountains of Kurdistan also paved the way for the People’s United Revolutionary Movement. We can evaluate the clever comrade from the first. Not only did he pave the way for the People’s United Revolutionary Movement, he also became a pioneer in its implementation. Comrade Zeki was one of the pioneers who participated most actively in the revolutionary practice both in Medya Defense Zones and afterwards in Turkish metropolises. On this occasion, we commemorate Comrade Zeki Gürbüz and Comrade Özgür Namoğlu, who were martyred in Hesekê on January 3, with all our revolutionary feelings, and express our love, respect and gratitude. We declare that we will keep his memory alive in our revolutionary struggle.
