‘OUR LEADERSHIP WAS TARGET WITH THE PARIS MASSACRE’
The statement stated:
“On January 9, 2013, we experienced a new Paris massacre in Paris on the 10th anniversary of the martyrdom of our comrades Rojbin and Ronahi, together with Comrade Sara-Sakine Cansız, one of the founders of our Party, PKK, the pioneer of our Women’s Freedom Movement, and most importantly, one of our Leader’s first fighters. While the French state should have tried the Turkish state for the massacre it committed, the second Paris massacre on 23 December was made the Kurds experience.
The process in which Saras, Rojbins and Ronahis were massacred in Paris in 2013 corresponds to an important period. It took place in a process where our leadership took steps on the basis of the democratic solution of the Kurdish problem and laid the groundwork for dialogue. The real Leadership was targeted with the Paris massacre. Both the possible dialogue process was tried to be sabotaged and the ideological line was aimed as one of the first companions of the Leadership. At the same time, the Kurdistan women’s liberation struggle and the values created in the person of heval Sara were targeted. The Paris massacre was an attack by the Turkish state with a multidimensional ideological, political, military, social and psychological purpose that could not be explained by simple hostility towards the Kurds in the person of our Movement. The massacre had ideological dimensions as well as directly related to the cyclical situation and developments in Kurdistan, the Middle East and the world. Just as with the international conspiracy carried out by our Leader and our Movement on February 15, 1999, an intervention in the region was targeted by NATO and its gladio forces; The January 9 Paris massacre was aimed at the same forces, with the same aim, to build a democratic modernity that would develop in the region under the leadership of Kurdistan and the PKK Leadership line, including a permanent peace and solution. Rêber Apo said, “The assassination of Sakine is even more serious for us than the assassination of the Austrian Crown Prince in the First World War. The incident of the Sakine was such a breaking point that it is as important as May 19 in Turkey, and pointed out the extent of the attack and how great the danger was. A dirty war was imposed on the region and the peoples in order to fuel the Kurdish-Turkish war, to divide and divide the peoples of the Middle East by clashing their beliefs with each other. Since women’s militancy showed a strong development, it also challenged the male-dominated system and its interests, so they wanted to scare, frighten, weaken, disperse the women fighting for freedom with such a massacre, and to bring women’s militancy back down. The second massacre, this time on December 23, 2022, within the scope of an international concept on the basis of the same aim and target, is a continuation of dirty policies and interests.
‘IN HUMAN ATTACKS ARE APPLICABLE TO KEEP GOING FROM THE POWER’
The AKP-MHP fascism is carrying out the most comprehensive inhumane attacks in order not to fall from power. “Today, the main reason why the attacks against women are at the center of the 3rd World War developed against the peoples of the Middle East is the social empowerment of the women’s freedom struggle. The sexist policies developed by despotic nation-state structures on the basis of misogyny and increasing male and state terrorism are related to this.

Our comrade Sara, who inherited the legacy created by the historical Beselerin, Zarife, Leyla Qasim, Rosa and Claras and the women who paid a great price, has become the freedom value of the women and peoples of the Middle East as well as the people of Kurdistan today and has gained a universal value. The role of freedom values formed in the person of the leader is decisive in the rise of Kurdish women in the four parts of Kurdistan, especially in Bakur and Rojava, and in other fields. Thousands of women were influenced by the Saras and turned their direction to the mountains, and took sacrifice in the line of the Sarai. The line of women’s freedom is the essence and guiding reality of the invincibility of the Kurdish Freedom Movement. Comrade Sara, who was the right comrade to Rêber APO, and thousands of her successors, our women martyrs, created this essence and line.
Comrade Sakine-Sara, who pioneered the beginnings of the PKK movement and our history of women’s freedom struggle, created values at the national level. Heval Sara’s resistance, militant personality has guided our search for freedom and has always been the greatest source of strength for our women’s freedom struggle. For us, a history of freedom has been a source of morale, strength, assertion and life as much as being a memory, organization and awareness of struggle. For this reason, we accept the struggle of our comrade Sara as the history of the struggle of our women’s liberation movement and we take this line as a basis.

In 1995, she played a decisive role in the successful completion of the YAJK 1st National Women’s Congress in Metina, on the Kurdistan Freedom Mountains, attended by hundreds of women guerrillas, and was elected as the central member of our Women’s Movement. She has made a great effort in fulfilling her duties and responsibilities in the work of our women’s movement.
Heval Sara never adopted or accepted an ordinary, meaningless, backward life. She always had a great reaction and rebellion against slavery, the reality of slave women. Wherever he went, he always had a constant struggle against whatever setbacks and weaknesses he saw and witnessed. ‘ROJBIN AND RONAHI STRONGLY FIGHT FOR FREEDOM’

Friend Rojbin personally took the lead in many campaigns and moves launched for the freedom of Rêber Apo, in particular, and he fought for it with great persistence and passion, without getting tired of it. Comrade Rojbin was a friend who worked and struggled with the deep awareness that the freedom of women and their people passed through Leader Apo’s freedom. Our duty and responsibility will be to carry this struggle to success and to ensure freedom.
Our friend Ronahi also went to Europe at a young age and grew up here. He was a friend who was never integrated with the lifestyle and culture of Europe, and always grew up with the love and longing for Kurdistan. Just like Rojbin, he preferred freedom by adopting a radical stance against capitalism’s policies of detaching and assimilating Kurdish youth from their own culture, historical roots and social values. Her patriotic consciousness and her quest for freedom as a woman had brought her together with the struggle for freedom. Especially the Kurdistan youth living and growing up in Europe should deepen and expand their organization around the freedom struggle, based on Ronahi friend’s stance that questions the capitalist modernity system and liberalism.
