FRANKFURT – Yesterday on New Year’s Eve, internationalist and Kurdish youth paid a visit to the prisoners in Frankfurt-Preungesheim to express their solidarity with the prisoners. The young people made a joint statement about their action and made the following statements:
“Tonight, on New Year’s Eve, internationalist and Kurdish youth paid a visit to the prisoners in Frankfurt-Preungesheim.
We moved with about 20 people up to the wall of the prison. From there we shot with massive fireworks, light and color rockets, which reached the area of the prison buildings, the message over the prison wall that we think of you also on this night, in the Christmas days, when otherwise many others get together with their loved ones to celebrate .
With the slogans ‘Bijî Berxwedana Zindana’, ‘Freedom for all political prisoners’, ‘Berxwedan Jiyane’, and ‘Bijî Serok APO’, we expressed that the resistive political struggle in the prison with ours in the towns and villages connected, as well as with the resistance in Kenya, Italy, Iran, and Kurdistan and elsewhere. Because resistance means life, and it transcends the physical prison walls and borders anyway, no matter how well they are armed and how well they are secured.
So the thoughts of Abdullah Öcalan reach and touch the hearts of many people around the world today, although he has been held captive in solitary confinement on Imrali for 23 years, and they strengthen thousands of hands that work for a free world.
We especially greet our comrade A. Öcalan, who is in the Preungesheim prison and is being punished with excessive inappropriateness for his involvement with the Kurdish freedom movement in Germany. Whether to the hunger striker Alfredo Cospito, the comrades in Evin prison in Iran, Palestine, Turkey and Bakûr, in Russia or Libya, to all political prisoners in the world – we send respectful and warm greetings.
Cheers to international solidarity!”
