NEWS CENTER – Mehmet Öcalan emphasized that law and justice do not work in any way for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Mehmet Öcalan stated that he has difficulty in naming the point where the isolation in Imrali has reached, and pointed out that the state and the government’s unwillingness to solve the Kurdish problem lies behind this isolation.
Mehmet Öcalan said, “As the person who attends the meetings the most in Imrali, I can say that Abdullah Öcalan has been working for the democratic solution of the Kurdish problem in Turkey for 22 years. But neither the state nor the government want this. Because they take advantage of this deadlock. They are living through it.”
‘IF HE DID NOT MEET WITH THE CPT, THIS IS A REACTION’
Emphasizing that his brother reacted the most to this systematic unlawfulness, Mehmet Öcalan stated that he clearly expressed this in the interrupted phone call he had with him, adding:
“Abdullah Öcalan openly underlined on the phone that if there is a law in Turkey, it should be applied to him as well. He asked me, ‘Who sent you here?’ While I was explaining my reasons, the phone was suddenly cut off.”
Stating that if it is true that his brother did not meet with the CPT, according to the reports, Mehmet Öcalan said that it should be read as a reaction to the isolation policy that has become systematic and said, “If Abdullah Öcalan did not meet with the CPT, this is a reaction and a justified reaction. Because Europe, America and foreign powers are also responsible for the special system implemented in Imrali.
‘The opposition also has a share in the isolation’
Stating that the main opposition had a share in this unlawfulness in Imrali, Mehmet Öcalan reminded that the main opposition, who used the concepts of “rights, law, and justice”, for some reason, did not say a word about this special system in Imrali. Expressing that the root of the problem is locked in this double standard, he reacted as follows:
“There has been no news from four people in Imrali for about 2 years. They cannot exercise their legal rights. They cannot see their families and lawyers. When it comes to polemic and speculation over Mr. Öcalan, the government and the main opposition do not say a word against this lawlessness. The so-called TV channels that call themselves dissidents do not bring this issue to the fore. That’s the problem. It is an ugly thing, a shame.”
Emphasizing that the opposition is serving the government with its silence on this issue, Mehmet Öcalan said that the lawlessness that does not speak out has spread and spread everywhere. Mehmet Öcalan, who gave the policy of trustees as an example, reminded that the main opposition, which did not respond to the appointment of trustees to HDP’s municipalities years ago, is facing the same threat of trustees in IMM today.
‘The KEY TO THE SOLUTION IS ABDULLAH ÖCALAN!’
Mehmet Öcalan, who said that the Kurdish problem has transcended Turkey, reminded that his brother had repeatedly called, ‘Come, let’s solve this problem between us’, but the government did not agree to this.
Underlining that the Imrali gates should be opened as soon as possible, Mehmet Öcalan said: “Turkey’s most important problem is the Kurdish problem. If this problem is solved in 2023, both democratic, political and economic problems will be solved. If Imrali is unlocked, the Kurdish issue will be resolved democratically. This fact is valid for both the current government and the opposition that wants to bring itself to power tomorrow. The key to the solution is Abdullah Öcalan and the gates of Imrali must be opened as soon as possible.”
