BEHDINAN – PKK Executive Committee Member Murat Karayılan; Sakine Cansız stated that the French administration faced a test after the 23 December massacre, which took place on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the murders of Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez in Paris, and said, “Will it take dirty political and economic interests or the law? This will become clear during this period. It is very clear that the French state will be held responsible if there is no right and fair approach.”
Evaluating the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Karayılan said that the torture system and isolation policy implemented in İmralı is far beyond colonial law; He emphasized that he trampled on all human and moral judgments.
PKK Executive Committee Member Murat Karayılan answered ANF’s questions. Here is the first part of the conversation:
The isolation on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan is getting heavier. What is the Turkish government trying to do?
The practice developed by the AKP-MHP regime against Leader Apo in Imrali has no place in any law. There is no example of this isolation and torture system in our age. Even in the colonial legal system, there are some rights, but the psychological torture system applied in Imrali and the isolation policy that took years is far beyond the colonial law. In fact, it is a new form of practice that needs to be redefined, trampling on all human rights and moral values. This is like a mirror that reveals the cruelty and lawlessness of the genocidal policy of the Turkish state in Kurdistan. With this genocidal practice developed in İmralı, the whole world actually saw the true face of the AKP-MHP fascist regime. This policy, implemented in the person of our Leader, actually covers the whole society.
His lawyers and his family make applications to be able to be interviewed, but no request is accepted.
As you have stated, more than a thousand lawyers have applied to Imrali to go and meet. Bar associations and deputies applied. His lawyers and family regularly apply for interviews, almost every week. Most recently, many international law institutions have publicly announced their desire to meet with Leader Apo. In other words, it created a certain repercussion at the international level, the practice of the AKP-MHP regime was to some extent exposed. Various national and international circles also took a stand against the inhumane lawlessness in Imrali. Despite all this, the Turkish state, which relies on international conspiratorial forces, recklessly sees this inhumane practice and lawlessness as a favor to all our people in the person of Leader Apo. This is a social torture system. This is what was practiced in Imrali. It is a torture method against the whole society. Against this, the resistance of the guerrilla in Kurdistan, the stance of our Leader and our comrades in İmralı, the resistance of the prisons against oppression and torture, the resistance and rising struggle despite all the oppression and attacks carried out against all social layers in the political arena, this inhuman torture practiced in Kurdistan once again proved that the method of violence and violence, the politics of denial and annihilation will not yield any results.
The will and determination rising with the struggle of the Kurdish people; The determined struggle for freedom and stance of Kurdistan women along the Leader’s line; The fact that the guerrilla has repeatedly proven its invincibility clearly shows that this policy of violence carried out by the Turkish state will yield no results. It has been proven over and over again throughout all these developing processes that the only solution is Leader Apo’s solution perspective. For this reason, ‘freedom, not isolation for Leader Apo’ is the only key to the solution. Development of democracy and prosperity in Turkey; The only way for peoples to live fraternally, equally and freely is the liberation of Leader Apo and the realization of his perspectives. There is no other way around this. All the resistances carried out and the determined stance put forward reveal this fact very clearly.
As the anniversary of the January 9 Paris Massacre was approaching, three Kurdish people were martyred in a second massacre in Paris. Among them, Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara) was a friend of yours that you also know. What can you say about this massacre?
The first and second Paris massacres are another practice that shows the recklessness of the genocidal policy of the Turkish state in Kurdistan. In particular, I commemorate comrade Sara (Sakine Cansız), who was the founding member of our party, and comrades Rojbin (Fidan Doğan) and Ronahî (Leyla Şaylemez), who were martyred together, with respect and gratitude on the 10th anniversary of their martyrdom. I invite all patriotic Kurdistanis and their friends to attend the great meeting that will take place on January 7th in Paris in memory of these dear friends. Strong participation will also be an important message for the prosecution of Turkish state officials.
I commemorate our last Paris martyrs, KCK Executive Council Member Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara) Mir Perwer and Abdurrahman Kızıl with respect and gratitude. Mir and Abdurrahman were our patriots who stood out with their determination and self-sacrifice in the freedom march. Mîr Perwer’s promising determination, talent and struggle as a Kurdish patriotic artist show how deep his essence is. Again, Abdurrahman Kızıl has the fact of being a freedom lover and veteran that took decades.
Comrade Evîn Goyî is a freedom militant and a determined and unshakable pioneer of the free women’s line that we know very well. She is a heroic Kurdish woman who is the symbol of honesty, sincerity, self-sacrifice and moral stance on freedom. She was not an ordinary woman, she was a pioneering freedom fighter with her individual virtues, sincerity, seriousness and years of deep work. He was a valuable revolutionary militant, developed and shaped by Botan’s deep patriotism and Apoist struggle. He was a comrade who kept a society alive in his heart and grew stronger in our struggle as a representative of Botan’s patriotism, self-sacrifice and courage. In this respect, the martyrdom of Evin Friend is not an ordinary loss for the Freedom Movement and the Kurdish people.
How do you interpret the timing of this attack?
Is it a coincidence that the attack took place 5 days before the anniversary of the Roboski Massacre? As both the 10th anniversary of the Paris martyrs and the 11th anniversary of the Roboski martyrs are approaching, it cannot be a coincidence that Evîn Goyî and two other comrades were targeted during this period. Evîn friend was a friend from the same circle as Roboski. So they are the same tribe and kin. In Paris, Sakine was a revolutionary militant who increased the struggle along the line of the Inanimate, and stepped into Paris as their representative. Could it be a coincidence that a personality closely related to both these events, a leading female militant, was targeted in the middle of Paris? Who can deny that the so-called racist murderer, Comrade Evin Goyî, a member of the Executive Council of the KCK, deliberately targeted him as part of a grand plan that was implemented? Obviously this is a plan. There is a state of conscious and organized targeting and implementation here. It is unthinkable that so many events could be brought together and implemented so much by chance.
It is by no means a coincidence that the genocidal Turkish state, which carried out 17 thousand assassinations in the middle of the street under the name of “unsolved murders” in the 1990s alone, and which implemented state terror, targets Kurdish women so much. It is clear that the Free Women’s Line, which played a role in the spread of the Leader Apo line not only within the Kurdistan society, but also at the international level, was intended to be prevented in this way. Therefore, it is clear that the 2nd Paris Massacre was an application planned by the MIT, just like the massacre on 9 January 2013. We can never accept that our unarmed and defenseless people are targeted in this way, despicably and despicably. It will certainly be accounted for. The memories of these valuable comrades will be kept alive in the successful crowning of our Freedom Struggle.
We are well aware that the fascist AKP-MHP regime is particularly vengeful and murderous towards the free women’s movement. Sêvê Demir, Pakize Nayır, Fatma Uyar, and their young comrade named İslam, who were the pioneers of the free women’s movement, who were the precious children of the people of Kurdistan who wanted to move from one neighborhood to another in Silopi, on January 5, 2016, during the self-government resistances, were officially shot and martyred. I commemorate these four friends and, in their person, the heroic martyrs of all self-government resistances with respect and reverence. I would like to express our determination to fulfill the requirements of keeping our promise to them. They played a historical role as great heroes of an era. Their resistance stance is a fundamental force that has been the basis of our struggle so far.
What is the duty of the French state regarding the massacres in Paris?
The French state is responsible for revealing the real perpetrators of these two massacres that took place 10 years apart in Paris. All the people of Kurdistan expect this. The approach of the French democratic circles to the event is positive and friendly. The government should show the same attitude and expose the criminals. For this, it should not be based on some dark calculations and dirty economic interests that caused the massacre in 2013 to remain dark, but on the French law, which took its source from the French Revolution of 1789 and gained a certain level. The current French state administration is faced with a test in this regard. Will it be based on dirty political and economic interests or the law? This will become clear during this period. It is clear that the French state will be held responsible if there is no right and fair approach.
