“Our comrade Deniz Pir, who was an Apoist self-contained commander in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, in which he participated for many years, with his honesty, simplicity, devotion to the values of freedom and the confidence he created in all his comrades, fell unfortunately from a cliff in the Qendil area on May 21, 2021 and became martyrdom. Our comrade Deniz, who set an example for all his comrades with his persistent stance in the struggle and self-sacrificing style in his participation, overcame all the difficulties and obstacles in his way and became the owner of an uncountable revolutionary march. He carried the resistance he developed against the colonialists in the dungeon area to the mountains of Kurdistan, fought all over our country, and acted with the deep responsibility of being worthy of our Leader and our martyred comrades at every moment of the struggle. Bazîd, who has been one of the important resistance areas of free Kurdishness from the time of İhsan Nuri Pashas to the present, still continues this mission with his precious children, whom he added to the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, and with his unyielding honorable resistance against the enemy. Born in a village on the outskirts of Ararat, our comrade Deniz grew up with the epics of heroes who fought for the freedom of our people and did not hesitate to pay any price for this cause. These heroic epics, which he learned from the klams and the circulating cleric, have influenced our comrade Deniz since his childhood. The struggle of our people for decades for their freedom and the price they have paid have been imprinted in their minds, and as an honorable Kurdish youth, he wanted to follow this legacy of resistance. Our comrade Deniz, who lived with his family in the village where he was born until the age of 15, In this process, he acquired the traditional culture and morality of the Serhed people from his family. During his stay in the village, he came to the forefront thanks to his working personality and was shown as an example among his friends. Later, he continued to work by going to the metropolises of Turkey to contribute to the livelihood of his family. Our comrade Deniz, who had a certain awareness of Kurdishness until he went to Turkish metropolises, and was aware of the struggle carried out by our people and its leading force, the PKK, has entered into a deep questioning due to the racist approaches developed towards our people in the places where he worked and lived. These interrogations he went through enabled our comrade Deniz to get to know our struggle for freedom more closely. During his compulsory military service, he faced the fact that these racist approaches developed against our people were a state policy. For this reason, he felt great anger against the genocidal Turkish state during his military service and wanted to join the guerrilla ranks as a reaction. Although he wanted to escape from the military with a group of friends and join the guerrilla ranks, he could not achieve this goal due to various reasons. Our comrade Deniz, who later became a pioneer militant with his devotion to his cause, joined the guerrilla ranks from Dêrsîm on 15 August 1999, a meaningful day for our people, in response to the International Conspiracy developed against our Leader and the massacres carried out everywhere against our people.
In the first days of his guerrilla movement, he and a group of his comrades were captured by the enemy as a result of the attack of the invading Turkish army, during the period when they took action from Dêrsîm to the Medya Defense Areas with the instruction of our Leader. Although it was challenging for our comrade Deniz to be captured by the enemy in a period when he had just started guerrillaism and he understood it as his own rebirth, it made it a reason to fight more. Our comrade Deniz, who transformed the dungeon area he was in for 5 years into the first training academy, first learned the reality of Leader Apo and the PKK in depth in the dungeon environment. During his stay in the dungeon, he prepared himself for a long and full guerrilla life. He made an intense effort to live every moment like a guerrilla.
Our comrade Deniz, who turned his face to the mountains of Kurdistan after coming out of the dungeon in 2005, waited for February 15th for a meaningful response to the enemy. He joined the guerrilla ranks again on the day our Leader was captured by an international conspiracy. Our comrade Deniz, who has been guerrilla for a long time in the Kelareş area after joining the guerrilla ranks, was deeply influenced by his comrades here as it was his first practical field of work, and had the opportunity to meet and work together with valuable comrades whom he would always take as an example in his revolutionary march. Later, he was involved in the training of PKK Furnace, where he had the opportunity to question the long-term prison and guerrilla practice he lived in, and to better understand our Leadership and Party reality within the framework of these interrogations. He experienced deep concentrations on the reality of martyrdom in the training environment of the PKK Furnace, and made him aware that keeping the memory of each of his comrades who became martyrs alive is to enlarge the struggle. Our comrade Deniz, who worked in the Medya Defense Zones for a while after the training, later moved to the Amanos field in 2012. At a time when our Revolutionary People’s War was at its peak, it was very meaningful for our comrade Deniz to carry out guerrilla activities in a difficult area like Amanos. In particular, he wanted to practice the hatred and anger he had accumulated over the years against the colonial Turkish state in Amanos. Our comrade Deniz, who achieved significant success in the 6-year Amanos practice, took part in many actions against the enemy here. Our comrade Deniz, who is aware of the importance of the Amanos for the enemy, has spent every moment of his effort to enlarge the struggle even more. Thus, the Amanos had an important role in becoming one of the important centers of the Kurdistan guerrilla. Our comrade Deniz, who has lived very valuable and meaningful times with many of his comrades with whom he worked here, was deeply affected by the martyrdom of some of these comrades. He has embroidered the memory of each of his comrades in his heart, and the longing in his heart is reflected in his eyes every time he mentions and mentions these comrades. Returning to the Medya Defense Zones after his successful practice in Amanos, our comrade Deniz has been involved in important, critical works that require great responsibility and sensitivity as a PKK cadre, which has gained the trust of all its comrades thanks to its successful practice, militant stance, martyrs and its deep devotion to the Leader’s line. In every work he took part in, he took the memories of his martyred comrades and the philosophy of Leader Apo as his guide, and successfully continued the struggle for the revolution with the modesty and simplicity of a dervish. She has set her main goal to successfully fulfill the work she took part in at a time when our people were closest to freedom. On this basis, on May 21, 2021, when he was on duty, he unfortunately reached martyrdom and joined the caravan of martyrs, which he called real PKK members.
We state that, as his comrades, we will certainly fulfill the task of revolution that he handed over to us by protecting the memory of our comrade Deniz, and we express our condolences to all our patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially his valuable family.”
