“Cizîra Botan was an important center of the resistance with his culture of resistance and his insistence on a free life. Our company of Cizîra Botan, which has not bowed to oppression in any period of Kurdistan’s history, has been one of the forerunners of the Welatparêzî in Kurdistan with this characteristic. Our society of Cizîra Botan, subjected to the enemy’s most brutal attacks and massacres in almost every period of its history, responded to all this with Serhildans (riots). Our heroic society has sacrificed its bravest daughters and sons against all attacks for the sake of free life, and the noblest daughters and sons of our society have known how to be worthy of the heroism of our society, each time increasing the legacy of resistance to the enemy’s heaviest attacks. Our comrade Xelef, one of the brave sons of our company from Cizîra Botan, was born and raised in a family committed to the welatparêz culture. Our comrade Xelef witnessed the attacks and massacres of the fascist and colonialist Turkish state on the Kurdish society, especially on our society from Cizîr, from an early age and therefore felt great hatred and anger. Growing up in a welatparêz environment and early experiencing of the serhildan and resistance spirit of the people of Cizîr played an important role in the personality formation of our comrade Xelef. As befits every honorable Kurdish youth, our comrade Xelef became aware of his responsibility in the face of the massacre of Kurdish society and sought the fight. The torture and poisoning attempts of the fascist Turkish state against our leader became in our comrade Xelef, as in many Kurdish youth, a great reason for revenge and our comrade decided to join the ranks of the guerrilla where the fight for revenge was the most relentless way was led.
Comrade Xelef, who joined the guerrillas in his native country in 2015, moved to the Medya Defense Zones to complete his new fighter training. ŞAHİN BOTAN
Our comrade Şahin was born in Şirnex as a member of a welatparêz family. He grew up with the resilient properties of Botan, where the culture and tradition of ancient Kurdistan is lived. Our comrade Şahin’s personality was shaped by Botan’s self-sacrificing, hardworking, courageous and sensitive qualities. Due to the welatparêz attitude of his family and their involvement in the Kurdistan freedom movement, he had the opportunity to get to know our party early on. He grew up with the epic resistance and memories of the pioneering commanders and fighters who fell in the Kurdistan Şehîd freedom movement. The youth of Botan set an example for all of Kurdistan by fulfilling their social pioneering tasks against the Turkish state, who wants to genocide our society. Comrade Şahin, who comes from such a deep-rooted tradition, has been a sensitive young man despite everything that has been done to our society. Comrade Şahin also witnessed numerous oppressions, persecutions, massacres and tortures of his father by the occupiers. Comrade Şahin has been waiting for the right time by accumulating what has been done to his family and our society. With each day that passed, his hatred and anger for the occupiers, which he wanted to turn into revenge, grew. He realized that every oppression and massacre must be held accountable. Our comrade Şahin joined the ranks of freedom when the time came in which the enemy wanted to pursue a more subtle policy of genocide under the name of the solution process, in order to demand accountability for the massacres committed against our society, which he has never forgotten. He set the direction for the Besta area, the heart of Botan in the guerrilla. He stayed for a time in the areas of Besta and Cûdî. He was very impressed by life in the guerrilla and the camaraderie in the PKK. He moved to the Medya Defense Zones to further his skills and become a professional guerrilla. Comrade Şahin received basic training in the Medya Defense Zones and became a more conscious participant. Comrade Şahin, who started the training with great enthusiasm and morale, made rapid progress. Despite being the youngest in his unit, he managed to dominate the work he participated in through his active and enthusiastic participation. Through the trainings he received, he came to know deeply the reality of the Chairman and increased his devotion to Rêber APO, his country and his society moment by moment. With his clean and simple participation, he won a great place in the hearts of his comrades. He reflected his color wherever he went and managed to be a source of morale for his comrades. As a self-sacrificing fighter, he took firm steps in the path of our pioneer commander Zîlan. Our comrade Şahin, who understands the importance of education and that he can achieve leadership, if he can lay a solid foundation, he has reached a successful level with his desire and effort to delve into every education he has received. Starting from Rêber APO’s statement: “The man who is created by sense and feeling is the greatest man”, he has endeavored to better understand and feel Rêber APO. He has lived a life and struggle worthy of it in the PKK, a community of Fedaî. From the first day of his participation until his martyrdom, our comrade Şahin always asked himself: “How can I better participate and be worthy of the Rêber APO, the Şehîds and the tasks of this time”. His devotion to the Hevaltî has given him an attitude that does not stop halfway, and he has practiced this both in life and in war with the spirit of a Chairman’s fighter. Our comrade Şahin, aware of his duties and responsibilities, became a great pioneer commander in the military sense, perfecting himself in the style and tactics of the guerrilla of Democratic Modernity. Our comrade Şahin actively participated in the Cenga Heftanîn movement and the Cenga Xabûr Şehîd Savaş Maraş revolutionary movement against the invasion operations that the fascist and occupying Turkish state developed against the Medya Defense Zones in order to liquidate our movement and realize its colonial dreams . He took part in many actions during the parades. He was one of our comrades who played a leading role in preventing the invaders’ attempts to occupy our territories in a short time. He was wounded multiple times on both moves, but did not leave the hot battle front. He has always offered himself for the most demanding tasks. In these invasion attacks, he fought with his hevals with great morale from moment to moment. Our comrade Sahin, a fighter of the apoist Fedaî, fought heroically and with great determination and perseverance against the invaders. Through his bravery in war he also gave strength and support to his hevals. He fulfilled his responsibility by showing a self-sacrificing attitude and persisting in the line of apoism to his last breath. In the revolutionary operations to clear the occupied territories, Adilca, Kerimce and Beritanca fought to the last breath and Şehîd fell. His martyrdom has deeply touched us, his hevals, and by repeating our promise to all our revolutionary Şehîds in his person, we declare that we will ensure our Chairman’s physical freedom, which is one of our greatest goals.

The anti-Kurdish, fascist Turkish state, which builds its existence on the absence of our society, has throughout its history pursued a policy of genocide against our society and has done everything in its power to murder our society. The genocidal Turkish state, which wants to continue this policy with the gangs it nurtures in its womb, was stopped in Kobanê by the greatest resistance in history. Kobanê, where many Welparêz and apoist fighters from Kobanê fought; Kobanê, where ISIS fascism and the colonialist Turkish state were defeated, has become the kiblah of human dignity. Our comrade Rêncber was born and raised in a welatparêz family in Kobanê as the son of a self-sacrificing fighting society.
