“Our comrades Kemal Çiya and Rustem Afrin, who dealt heavy blows to the invading Turkish army with their guerrilla actions in the Amanos area for a long time in the attacks carried out by the colonialist Turkish army in the Amanos area on October 3, 2020, fought heroically until their last breath and reached martyrdom. These valuable comrades, who led their comrades with their sacrifices and self-sacrificing participation in the difficult terrain of Amanos, played an important role in the expansion and expansion of our freedom war. These valuable comrades, who spent every moment to increase the struggle and ensure that our people gain the freedom they deserve, took their honorable place in our history of resistance as the pioneers of our people.

KEMAL ÇIYA
Afrin, where patriotism and Kurdish culture is lived in its purest form, and in this sense, has been in a historical resistance against all the attacks of the genocidal regimes, has participated in the resistances that developed in many periods of Kurdistan’s history due to these characteristics, and sent its most valuable sons to the ranks of the struggle for the freedom of our people without hesitation. For this reason, Afrin has always been in a special position for our people. Our comrade Kemal was born in a patriotic family in a society with such strong patriotic features. At the same time, his family and close relatives joined the ranks of freedom. Comrade Kemal, who had the opportunity to meet our comrades who have been working in the Afrin region from an early age, was impressed by the approach of these comrades, He got to know our party in the person of these comrades and from a young age he determined to join the guerrilla as his biggest dream. Comrade Kemal, who started to get to know our Party better as he grew older, began to understand our Leader’s philosophy day by day. Although his first impression was emotional, our comrade Kemal, who succeeded in raising his awareness later on, decided to join the guerrilla ranks when the Rojava Freedom Revolution was beginning to develop.
Our comrade Kemal joined the guerrilla ranks in 2012, and after successfully completing his first training, he moved to the Zap field. He has won the love and respect of all his comrades with his clean, pure and hard working personality in the Zap area where he has been for a long time. During his time in the Zap area, he trained himself more and always wanted to be ready for a possible great war. For this, he has made himself militarily competent, from basic guerrilla tactics to the successful use of many weapons. Specializing in heavy weapons, Comrade Kemal gave heavy weapons training for a while and transferred his knowledge and idioms to his comrades. Our comrade, who is known for his humble personality, has established strong comradely relations with the comrades he has trained, and based on learning from his comrades while teaching. Our comrade Kemal, who received training from Martyr Sîpan Afrin, one of our immortal commanders who devoted a life to the freedom struggle of our people, and had the chance to fight with him for a while, embraced the legacy of struggle of all our martyrs in the person of Martyr Sîpan and was determined to carry it to victory. Comrade Kemal, who is aware that a pioneer militant should not limit himself to military development, has also focused on his ideological trainings, especially in the axis of the Leader’s defenses. Our comrade Kemal, who developed himself as an integral revolutionary, did not even blink his eyes when the time came and rushed to the task. He wanted to fight together with our people against the massacres that ISIS gangs carried out against our people in the areas of Rojava and Shengal in 2014. For this purpose, it moved to the Shengal area at the end of 2014, here, shoulder to shoulder with our people, took part in the historical resistance against the gangs. During the war, he earned the respect of all his comrades with his sacrifice and participation in the measure of self-sacrifice. Our comrade Kemal, whose war experience increased day by day, took command in a short time and led the war. In the intensity of the war process, there was a deep concentration on what can be done in the future for our Shengal people to live freely. He also closely followed the Self-Government Resistance that developed in Bakurê Kurdistan in 2015-2016. He suggested going to Bakurê Kurdistan with the strong belief that he could put his experiences in the war into practice in Bakure Kurdistan.
Since his proposal was consistent with his practice, his proposal was accepted and it was decided to go to the Amanos. Our comrade Kemal, who had the opportunity to practice his experiences in the war in new fields, turned his face to the Amanos with great excitement and determination. The fact that he will go to Amanos, which always seemed to him as a legendary mountain in his childhood, as a freedom guerrilla, caused a justified pride in our comrade Kemal. Now he himself could become one of the legendary commanders of the Amanos and take an honorable place in the history of freedom of our people. He showed his difference from the very beginning of the practical process in Amanos, where he went with these feelings and concentrations. Especially in the field of Amanos, which requires great sacrifice and effort, he became a leading commander in a short time with these characteristics and his deep love and devotion to his comrades. Our comrade Kemal, who participated in many actions against the enemy and led the way in dealing heavy blows to the enemy, managed to avenge the martyrdom of his comrades, especially the Self-Management Resistance. However, he never saw himself as enough, and by concentrating more and more, he chased the moment to strike the most effective blows on the enemy. Our comrade Kemal, who managed to become a leading militant and commander in Amanos, where he stayed for about 3 years, with his incalculable and self-sacrificing participation and his courage in the war, had the chance to work and fight with valuable commanders such as Dilşêr Herekol and Bedreddin Amanos in Amanos. He fought in the same position with these esteemed commanders during the most intense periods of enemy attacks and did not compromise on the values of freedom until his last breath. As his comrades, we repeat the promise that we will realize the dreams of our comrade Kemal, who has reached the level of martyrdom, the source of strength of our struggle.

RUSTEM AFRIN
Comrade Rustem was born in a patriotic family in the Cindirêsê district of Afrin. The fact that his family knew our Party from the first times of our freedom struggle made our Comrade Rustem sympathize with our Party and its leading force, the guerrilla, from an early age. Comrade Rustem, who grew up in a natural village environment and with the deep-rooted culture of our Afrin people, deeply reflected the traces of this culture in his personality. Our comrade Rustem, who grew up in a simple, natural, honest and concise manner without getting into any pollution, was fascinated by the majesty of the Amanos mountains when he was a shepherd in the village, and the presence of the Kurdistan guerrillas in Amanos both gave him confidence and has always been a center of attraction for him. Therefore, joining the guerrilla was his childhood dream. Thanks to his pure heart, he has enlarged this dream day by day without leaving any room for doubt. In the period when the Rojava Freedom Revolution began to develop, as a Kurdish youth, he took part in the revolutionary work with the awareness of his responsibilities to our people. He first took part in youth work, then he did not see this work as sufficient for himself, and he enlarged his struggle. Comrade Rustem undertook the task of defending our people, as the gangs covet the gains of our people and commit massacres against our people. He came to the fore with his courage and self-sacrifice in the war against the gangs and succeeded in becoming a commander in a short time. Comrade Rustem, who gained a great deal of experience during the intense war, shared these experiences with his comrades. He also witnessed the heroism of many of his comrades during the war. He was particularly impressed by the life stance, self-defeating style and deep comradeship of a comrade who deepened himself in Apoist philosophy and became martyred by leading the freedom struggle of our people. He decided to join the guerrilla ranks in order to be worthy of these comrades and to take over the struggles they handed over to their successors.
Our comrade Rustem, who joined the guerrilla ranks in 2016 with his devotion to his childhood dream, had the great happiness of reaching the Amanos, which he was a fan of when he was a child. Our comrade Rustem, who made good use of the advantage of living his first guerrilla experience in Amanos, managed to become a competent Apoist militant in a short time with the help of his comrades. Because of his courage, his desire to strike the enemy and his willingness to lead for it, he succeeded in being a source of strength and morale for all his comrades. Our comrade Rustem, who took charge in many areas from Iskenderun to Samandağı, has reached the level of team commander by improving himself in the new period guerrillaism day by day. Since Amanos knew his land very well, he succeeded in being a pioneer in every field he was in. Land dominance against the operations carried out by the enemy, With his cold-blooded stance and his belief in victory, he took effective actions and ensured that the enemy received great blows. Since our comrade Rustem has kneaded his personality with effort since his childhood, he stood out with this feature during his guerrilla ranks as well. Wherever there was a difficult work, he offered himself, in this sense, he tried to give his command properly. Although he did not study in Baath regime schools, he improved himself thanks to his intelligent personality. With the Party education he received with scarce resources, he developed himself ideologically and locked himself in the goal of our people’s freedom. For this reason, he believed that the colonialist Turkish state must be defeated and turned to practice on this basis. He foresaw that the Kurdistan Revolution could only take place in this way, believed that the struggle for this cause should be further developed and enlarged. Our comrade Rustem, who is a militant that is taken as an example by all his comrades with his mature personality as well as his deep concentration, was martyred in the attacks carried out by the enemy on October 3, 2020 and joined the caravan of immortals.
We express our condolences to all our patriotic people of Afrin and Kurdistan, especially to their precious families, such as Kemal and Rustem, who raised their precious children for the freedom struggle of our people and gifted them to the entire Kurdistan people.”
