MEXMÛR – 10 years ago on January 9th, Sakine Cansız (Sara), one of the leading cadres of the PKK and a pioneer of the Kurdish Women’s Struggle, Fidan Doğan (Rojbin), the Paris representative of the KNK, and Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahi), a member of the Youth Movement, were murdered by the fascist Turkish state in Paris, the capital of France.
Cemil Kara, who lives and teaches in the Martyr Rustem Cudi camp, told our agency about his dialogues with Martyr Sara.
Teacher Cemil Kara commemorated all the martyrs of the revolution and the pioneering martyrs of the women’s struggle, especially Martyr Sara, and those who gave their lives for this cause, and said For a long time in 2003, Heval Sara was the educational administrator of the field and gave ideological training to teachers. When I got to know Heval Sara, even someone who saw her from a distance could see how humble and modest she was. When we saw Heval Sara, no one ran away from her. Whenever and wherever she saw you, her conversation with you was very natural. Heval Sara could have a conversation with a child. I would often go to Heval Sara to have a conversation with her. Heval Sara would often say. Just read, read books and develop!” and that we should make good use of our free time.
‘He was very attached to the children of Maxmur’
The last time I saw Heval Sara in the mountain area was in 2009 and we chatted a lot. Heval Sara couldn’t get enough of the conversation and wouldn’t say enough. We sat and talked many times and most of all she talked about the children from Mexmur. Heval Sara was very attached to the children of Mexmur. Heval Sara’s heart was always beating for the children of Mexmur. Because whenever you saw Heval Sara, the first thing she asked was about education: “How is education going, how are the teachers doing, how are the children doing? I can say that Heval Sara’s heart was beating for the people of Mexmur most of the time and she was such a personality. As far as I knew and chatted with her, she was a very emotional friend. Whenever she saw a teacher or a student, she would not let them go easily and would talk to them. Heval Sara had a style like this: she was modest, humble and soft in her tone towards everyone.
‘She never made a difference between anyone’
In his speech, teacher Cemil drew attention to Martyr Sara’s comradeship and said:” Most of the time we went to Heval Sara and he had a very warm comradeship. Most of the time we would go to Heval Sara between meetings and he would approach without making a difference between anyone. He was friends with everyone, he talked to everyone. His advice and counsel to everyone was for education. This also affected the camp. As far as we knew, when he came to you or saw you off, he would come halfway and see you off. You couldn’t get enough of his conversation. One really felt comfortable when one was with Heval Sara. Her comradeship and conversation were so heartfelt. Whether she had a job or not, she never said I have a job, don’t come, I can’t chat, she would arrange her time accordingly, she would say come at any time, at any hour.
Really, no matter how much one talks about party pioneers, one cannot do them justice. Heval Sara’s personality cannot be expressed in two sentences. We will take the flag we learned from Heval Sara, which she handed over to us until the last drop of our blood remains in our lives, as a basis for ourselves and we will always walk in the path of Heval Sara and all martyrs. Again, on the anniversary of Heval Sara’s martyrdom, I condemn and condemn the massacres developed on women pioneers. The more this struggle grows with the slogan Jin Jiyan Azadi, the more women will lead it. Finally, I say Shahid Namirin.
