HAMBURG – The members of TekoJIN and TCŞ Hamburg have been on the streets for days to draw attention to the current situation in their homeland, Kurdistan, and to defend their homeland. On Wednesday, November 30th, the Kurdish young women and teenagers drew attention to themselves with two actions.
The members of TekoJIN and TCŞ put up posters on the wall of the Rote Flora in the well-travelled and lively district Sternschanze in Hamburg to draw attention to the attacks with chemical weapons against the guerrilla Kurdistan and to participate in those of Defend Kurdistan proclaimed days of action from .30. November to December 3rd.
The young people and young women of TekoJIN and TCŞ Hamburg made it clear that they see it as their task to inform the public and to break the silence. They criticize the lack of coverage in the public service media and also note that neither the OPCW nor the EU are doing anything. While NATO supports its fascist partner Erdogan in the genocide of the Kurds, the OPCW, like the EU, has remained silent in agreement. For this reason, the youth themselves must become active.
The young people and young women of TekoJIN and TCŞ Hamburg justified their action with the following words:
“This behavior that violates human rights must be stopped. Young people have to wake up, young people have to be active, young people have to put an end to all this and show that we don’t accept this anymore. It is the duty of every single Kurdish youth to stand up and organize and carry out actions. Dema Azadiyê.”
Also on Wednesday, a rally took place in the Sternschanze district of Hamburg in the evening, drawing the public’s attention to the attacks by the occupying Turkish state with chemical weapons and banned bombs on Kurdistan and condemning these crimes as crimes against humanity.
The members of TekoJIN and TCŞ Hamburg also took part in this rally and declared:
“The youth take it upon themselves to do as much as they can in this current situation. This situation is not easy for any of us, but we must be one voice together. Every voice counts, so it’s even more important to organize, be a voice and be a part of the revolution.”
