PARIS – The people gathered in front of the Kurdish Cultural Center in the Saint Denis District of Strasbourg to protest the Paris Massacre carried out by the Turkish state, and marched towards the République square. Tens of thousands of people are chanting the Paris Massacre with the slogans “Biji Serok Apo”, “Jin Jiyan Azadi”, “PKK”, “Revenge” and “PKK is the people, the people are here”
Yesterday in the middle of the day, an armed attack on the Kurdish Cultural Center took place in Paris, the capital of France. M. Willam attacked a club, then a Kurdish restaurant and a Kurdish hairdresser directly opposite to the center. Three people died and 3 other were wounded in the attack. The attacker was caught by the police, he is a 69 years-old french men. Authorities said they had arrested a 69-year-old man, who Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said had recently been freed from detention while awaiting trial for a sabre attack on a migrant camp in Paris a year ago. He was convicted in June of committing violent acts with a weapon in 2016, and had lodged an appeal.
Victims of the terror attack:
- Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara) has been active for the Kurdish freedom movement for many years and was most recently a representative of the Kurdish women’s movement in Europe, she was a driving force in the Kurdish women’s liberation struggle, one of those who captured the spirit of Jin Jiyan Azadî with her fight for freedom carried and fulfilled.
- Abdurrahman Kızıl was a Kurd who was close to his homeland and who also worked in the diaspora for the interests of the Kurdish people.
- Mîr Perwer was a Kurdish musician who was known and appreciated in the diaspora for his songs and belonged to the cultural movement TEV-ÇAND.
Yesterday just after the attack people took the streets at thousands and were attacked by the police, in response they set trashes on fire and throw rocks at the cops.
