NEWS CENTER – January 9 marks the 10th anniversary of the murder of three Kurdish revolutionaries Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez. The three women were shot dead in their office in the middle of Paris by a contract killer from the Turkish secret service MIT. The murderer’s trial was dropped because he died in prison under dubious circumstances shortly before the trial began.
However, the relatives of the three murdered revolutionaries pushed for a new investigation, which was also initiated, but has come to a standstill due to political pressure, since the file in question is considered a state secret.
THE STATE SECRET MUST BE DEVELOPED
In view of the tenth anniversary of these horrible murders, the associations TJK-F (Kurdish Women’s Movement in France) and the CDK-F (Democratic Kurdish Council) are organizing a series of decentralized and regional actions under the motto “Repeal state secrets, end ten years of impunity! “, which is intended to put pressure on those responsible in politics to finally air this state secret. The organizers of the actions explained: “The murderers are known. The secrecy surrounding the investigation must be lifted so that those responsible for the assassination can finally be held accountable.”
The actions were announced at a press conference last Sunday, December 18th. A spokeswoman read out a joint statement hailing Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez as “freedom fighters of the Kurdish people and primarily Kurdish women” and further stating: “Their heinous murder happened on behalf of the fascist Erdogan, with the help of open and secret assistance from regional forces, by members of the Turkish secret service. It is an attack on all Kurds and all women in the world, an attack on the Kurdish people and all other peoples. We remember our friends Sakine, Fidan and Leyla with heartfelt love and deep connection and bow to them. On the 10th anniversary of their deaths, we once again condemn with great fury the fascist Turkish state that planned, decided and carried out this massacre, and all the forces on whose authority and consent the perpetrators relied. We detest those who have remained silent and continue to do so, preventing those responsible from being exposed.”
WE KNOW THE MURDERERS – THEY LINK WITH THE NATO PLOT AGAINST RÊBER APO
The January 9th massacre was dubbed the black mark that went down in French history, declaring: “ We know the killers. We met them on October 9, 1998, when Abdullah Öcalan had to leave Syria as part of a NATO conspiracy and was abducted on February 15, 1999 in an act of piracy that violated international law. They are also known to us because they approve of chemical weapons attacks by the Turkish state against the guerrillas in Kurdistan and the Kurdish people. Turkey is not solely responsible for these attacks; all members of NATO are equally to blame.
The French state has a duty to ensure that the January 9 massacre is solved, and that those responsible are brought to justice and brought to justice. But for ten years we have been waiting for the responsible authorities to make sufficiently serious efforts to clarify. Justice remains in the dark. That’s why we demand: Reveal the state secret, end this disgrace! As Kurdish society and the Kurdish women’s movement, we will not rest until those responsible are held accountable. With determination and anger we will therefore also take to the streets on the tenth anniversary of the massacres in Paris and make our demands heard. We will remember our fallen and curse the murderers.”
The series of actions will begin with a “justice watch” by women from Kurdistan and their supporters in front of the Kurdish information office on Rue la Fayette, where Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez were shot in the head. On January 7th, a large, decentralized demonstration will take place in Paris, in which Kurds and their friends from all over Europe will take part. On January 9th there will be the official commemoration event of the city of Paris on the tenth anniversary of the death of the three women, also in front of the Kurdistan Information Center. The TJK-F and the CDK-F call for numerous participation.
