PKK Executive Committee Member Duran Kalkan made comments to the ANF about the Paris massacres:
“As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the January 9, 2013 Paris Massacre, we have come across a second Paris Massacre. Who committed the January 9, 2013 massacre? Why did he do it? Who became the shooter? Who was killed? These are known. At that time, Comrade Sara, one of the founders of our party, was mainly targeted. Now we see that Comrade Evin, who is a member of the KCK Executive Committee, is targeted. Another Kurdish revolutionary, another female revolutionary, is targeted by the fascist-genocidal mentality and politics, and is murdered in the heart of Paris. In this respect, we certainly have no difficulty in determining who carried out this second Paris Massacre, why, and what was intended by it.

A JUSTIFIED DEMAND MUST BE FOLLOWED

In other words, he may be acting with racist motives, he may be involved in such organizations, but this person was imprisoned, obviously trained in prison, and undoubtedly followed by the French police after he was released, but he was not prevented and was allowed to commit such a massacre. Of course, the whole Kurdish community, four parts of Kurdistan and 50 million Kurds abroad, All Kurdish friends, democratic forces, liberal forces, all these forces living all over the world are now waiting and wanting from the French state, security and government to reveal, question and judge the forces that decided and planned this event, and that the massacre be held to account on the basis of law. This is a perfectly justified demand. It cannot be otherwise. In other ways, the event cannot be overlooked.
THIS POWER IS THE STATE OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY
There was a lot of condemnation. There are explanations. There are evaluations from the Kurdish public opinion. They say, ‘If the 9 January 2013 massacre had been held accountable, if the real culprit had been exposed and prosecuted, this would not have been the second Paris Massacre.’ Again, they say, ‘If the account of the ISIS attacks in France had been asked correctly and adequately, this would not have happened again’. This is a very correct approach. The Second Paris Massacre is a definitive continuation of the January 9, 2013 massacre. It is also a continuation of the attacks carried out by Al Qaeda in France, the occupation and massacres carried out in Kurdistan. Other than that, it is absolutely invisible, unthinkable. It cannot be treated differently. So who is this power? Everyone is very well known that; The state of the Republic of Turkey is the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship. In Kurdistan, in Turkey, in the Middle East, Nobody in the world today fires arms against the Kurds except the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship/the Turkish state and its intelligence, the MIT under Hakan Fidan. No one has anything to do with the Kurds. In fact, there is sympathy and friendship with the Kurds in the region and all over the world. Why? For resisting ISIS in Shengal, for resisting in Maxmur, for resisting in Kobanê as well as in Rojava, for defeating ISIS, the enemy of humanity. The enemy of the Kurds is ISIS. The AKP-MHP is the friend of ISIS. The AKP-MHP should definitely not be separated from DAESH. There is the AKP-MHP-DAIS alliance and unity. Just as many massacres in Northern Kurdistan and Turkey, such as the 20 July 2015 Suruç Massacre, the 10 October 2015 Ankara Station Massacre, the June 2015 massacre in Amed, If the AKP-MHP-ISIS alliance has signed, it is precisely these forces that caused the Paris Massacre on December 23, 2022, the attack on the Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center and the murder of three Kurdish patriots. There can be no doubt about that.
EVERYONE TAKES THE TRIGGER
After all, the attack did not happen only in Paris. He arrested DBP members. He’s executing a lawsuit to shut down the HPD. He arrested dozens of Kurdish women who were fighting for freedom in Northern Kurdistan. In other words, the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship does not only attack and massacre Kurds in Paris, but also attacks all over Turkey and Northern Kurdistan, from Amed to Ankara, in parallel and simultaneously. He arrests, murders, imprisoned and tortures dozens of Kurds. The torture in the dungeons, the isolation and oppression in Imrali, and the psychological and physical pressure on Leader Apo have been brought to an extreme. It goes with them. Even when looking at these, everyone sees whoever pulled the trigger, no matter who in Paris is the hand that pulled the trigger.
EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW IT IS MYTH
This was also clear in the Paris Massacre of 9 January 2013. It was also revealed that the murderer at that time was an agent of the MIT under the leadership of Hakan Fidan. It was revealed and documented that the AKP, under the leadership of Tayyip Erdoğan, also gave the order. The French government hid them. Now it is the MIT that did the event, the MIT under the direction of Hakan Fidan. Moreover, the MIT, Turkish intelligence and the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship are problematic. Everyone should know this. Or did this person become an enemy of the Kurds in prison? How did he become such an enemy of the Kurds, attacking the Kurdish Cultural Center and Kurdish workplace within 10 days after he was released from prison? How did it come to separate the Kurds so much from the others? It means it is educated, it means it is very organized. In short, the Kurds and humanity are faced with a highly organized and planned fascist colonialist-genocidal attack. Especially the people of Paris, French society really does not deserve this. They are not worthy of such massacres, but they become the site of such slaughter. People also have a hard time expressing their opinion.
Therefore, no one should engage in depressing approaches in different ways. Kurdish society and humanity want and expect those responsible for the French state to be brought to light and held to account. It will follow up. The Kurds and humanity will support these efforts. He will certainly not accept any other approach. This is how it should be known.
Both the 9 January 2013 massacre and the 23 December 2022 massacre will definitely be held accountable. The Kurdish people and humanity will follow this. On this basis, we invite the intellectuals, revolutionaries, democrats, left-socialist forces of Paris, France, everyone who is in favor of democracy, and Kurdish friends and democratic forces all over Europe and the world, to bring those responsible for this incident to light and hold them accountable. As the Kurdish people and the Freedom Movement, our call and our expectation on the basis of friendship and solidarity are within this framework.
THE ACCOUNT HAS BEEN ASKED FOR 10 YEARS
As the Kurdish people and the Freedom Movement, we have undoubtedly held accountable for the January 9 massacre for 10 years. Our movement has produced the greatest improvement. Around the Paris Massacre, the Kurds, the Kurdish question and the Kurdish Freedom Movement became a global movement. He met his most loyal friends all over the world, which we saw in the Rojava Freedom Revolution. We saw it in the martyrdom movement that shed blood side by side in the resistance of the international troops formed in the ranks of the YPG-YPJ against ISIS. Such great progress has been made. Even though the French judiciary tried to cover up the incident and not hold the criminals accountable, the Kurdish people, Kurdish women, Kurdish youth and their friends, developed the struggle for freedom and democracy effectively against the AKP-MHP-ISIS mentality and politics, and held them accountable every day.
Now, it will develop this struggle against the massacre of December 23 in the same framework and at a much higher level. Those responsible for the December 23 massacre will certainly be held accountable. Such a struggle to hold accountable will lead humanity to a free and democratic life, while burying the fascist colonialist-genocidal mentality of the AKP-MHP-ISIS alliance into history. The democratic development of the Kurdish question will lead to its development in all areas of the struggle for its solution. We believe this.
On this basis, we call on all of our people, especially our people in Paris and our people abroad, to take the right attitude and wage the right struggle. We commemorate our martyrs of the Paris Massacre, especially Comrade Evin, with respect, love and gratitude. Our management has made statements and calls on this basis. We agree with them. We believe that our people will do their part to protect the memory of the martyrs and to carry out the struggle for the physical freedom of Leader Apo on the path of success.
DON’T GIVE OPPORTUNITIES TO PROVOCATIVE INITIATIVES
On this basis, it is necessary not to fall into simple attitudes, not to play games, and to be careful in the face of provocative approaches. We must not make any mistakes. We should never give an opportunity to provocative attempts that want to make our position, which is extremely right, unfair. We believe and call on our people to act very sensitively and carefully on this issue, and that the real culprits of both massacres will be exposed and brought to justice, and this will lead to a fraternization and democratization based on women’s freedom and Kurdish freedom. Our call to our people is based on this.
THEIR BLOOD WILL NOT STAY ON THE GROUND
As the PKK, we will definitely adopt such an attitude together with our people and our friends. Let no one doubt that. The blood of our martyrs will not be left on the ground. Fascist murderers will definitely be held accountable. This accountability will aim and realize the freedom of women, the freedom of the Kurds, the free and democratic life of humanity. On this basis, the Paris Massacre will increase our anger and reaction, and will open our consciousness more. It will make our will sharper. On the basis of these, we will further develop our struggle for freedom and democracy with the right way and method. In this context, we once again commemorate our martyrs of the Paris Massacre with respect and gratitude, share the pain of their families and our people, and all our people and friends.
