BEHDINAN – The HPG Press Center statement stated the following regarding the martyred guerrillas:
“Our comrades Arîn, Rênas and Serdar, who developed a historical resistance against the enemy attack in the Hill Ortê area of Metîna on December 10, 2022 and played an important role in the punishment of many enemy soldiers, fought heroically and reached martyrdom. These valuable comrades, who have shown with their practices that the Apoist militants will always resist the enemy attacks and will never give up on the defense of our people, took their place in the history of our people’s freedom as the most distinguished fighters of the Apoist militancy. Our comrades Arîn, Rênas and Serdar, each from different parts of Kurdistan and fighting in the same position for the freedom of our people.

ARIN MITAN
Our comrade Arîn was born in Qamishlo as a member of a family belonging to the patriotic Kêtikî tribe of Kobanê, whose resistance has become the hope of freedom for all humanity. Our comrade Arîn started to know the PKK from an early age, due to the fact that her close relatives joined the guerrilla ranks and the environment she lived in was patriotic. She was influenced by the approach of the guerrillas who went to their homes as a child, and the guerrilla’s respectful and sincere approach to everyone, regardless of whether they are big or small, has attracted the attention of our comrade Arîn since then. The biggest dream of the guerrilla’s childhood, spent with heroic stories, was to become the hero of these stories one day. Our comrade Arîn grows this dream day by day, has wanted to take her place in the ranks of the struggle since the first years of the Rojava Freedom Revolution.
Comrade Arîn, who started to get to know our Party better after joining the guerrilla ranks and training new fighters, was deeply affected by the prison resistance in Amed led by comrades Mazlum Doğan, Kemal Pir, Mehmet Xeyrî Durmuş, Akif Yılmaz and Ali Çiçek and the difficulties experienced during the founding years of our Party. She took great pride in being a part of a party that was founded with such great effort and cost and is today seen as the guarantee of freedom for all humanity. Our comrade Arîn was aware that she should become a pioneer militant by deepening in the Leadership ideology, has made a great effort in this sense. Our comrade Arîn had no difficulty in adapting to the guerrilla and mountain life, which she joined with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm. The sincerity of the guerrilla in her comradely relations and her communal life not only enabled our comrade Arîn to become more integrated with the guerrilla and mountain life, but also opened the door to a new and free life for her. Our comrade Arîn started to get to know herself better with the training she received in the guerrilla ranks and started to analyze her personality traits, changed herself day by day and deepened in the principles of free women. In order to adequately represent the free women’s line of PAJK, she made a great effort to understand our Leader’s Women’s Liberation Ideology and to make it the basic philosophy of her life. She also made improving herself militarily her top priority and trained herself to be a leading YJA Star militant. In every sense of herself as a woman, Our comrade Arîn, who stated that she could defend herself in the best ranks of the PKK, deepened herself in military art by taking close martial arts and operations school trainings on this basis. Our comrade Arîn focused on the war tactics of the guerrilla, always wanted to be in the areas where the war was the hottest. On this basis, she took part in the struggle against ISIS gangs for a while, and her participation and stance in this struggle became an exemplary female militant. When the invasion attacks of the invading Turkish state against the Medya Defense Areas began, she once again turned her face to the mountains of Kurdistan, which she had longed for.
Our comrade Arîn, who was eager to be with her comrades who were fighting in the positions as soon as she came to the mountain, developed herself in the new period tactics of the guerrilla in a short time. Our comrade Arîn, who went to the Metîna area after seeing herself as military ready, took her place in the Cenga Xabûr Martyr Savaş Maraş Revolutionary Campaign. With her enthusiastic and self-sacrificing participation in the move, she set an example for all her comrades, and as a YJA Star militant, she had an equal participation and stance in the pioneering mission. In the attack carried out by the enemy on the Hill Ortê area, she sacrificedly went against the enemy and pioneered the punishment of many enemy soldiers. Our comrade Arîn, who was martyred by fighting until her last breath, will always be remembered with her honest and simple personality, and her memory will be kept alive in our struggle.

RÊNAS AMED
Our comrade Rênas was born in Amed in a patriotic family that paid a price in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle. Comrade Rênas, whose brother (Elîşêr – Rojhat Seçkin) and many of his close relatives were martyred, has recognized the PKK from an early age due to this characteristic of his family. He closely witnessed the attacks of the enemy against our people and the policy of genocide, and he himself was exposed to these attacks and genocide policies. Again, he never accepted the isolation and oppression on our Leader, believing that it must be fought. Our comrade Rênas, who participated in youth activities for the first time with the awareness of his responsibilities towards our people as a Kurdish youth, with his anger and reaction to the enemy, has set an example for all Kurdistan youth with his successful practice here. Our comrade Rênas, who never saw his struggle as sufficient, has always sought to enlarge his struggle even more. The Leadership and our martyred comrades are aware that they can protect the line of self-sacrifice only by enlarging their struggle. He joined the guerrilla ranks in 2013 with the awareness that the way to do this is to join the guerrilla ranks.
Our comrade Rênas, who received the New Warriors training in the Metîna area, quickly adapted to the mountain and guerrilla life. He has set himself as a priority to develop himself militarily, and on this basis, he received general operations training at the Martyr Mehmet Goyî Operations School. Thanks to his willing participation in this training process, he has improved himself in guerrilla warfare tactics and technique. Since 2014, it has been involved in the anti-ISIS war to stand by our people against the attacks of ISIS gangs against our people and to be a partner in their struggle. Comrade Rênas, who fought against the gangs for a long time, took part in many moves and played the leading role as an Apoist militant. During this war, he prevented many gang attacks, especially with his expertise in sabotage, and protected our people against gang attacks. Our comrade Rênas, who took a self-sacrificing style as a basis in participation, did not compromise his insistence on the struggle despite being injured once. After certain successes were achieved in the struggle against the gangs, our comrade Rênas turned to the mountains of Kurdistan with the ease of completing his mission. Our comrade Rênas, who wants to become a pioneer militant by deepening himself in Leader Apo’s philosophy, was educated at Mahsum Korkmaz Academy on this basis. Throughout the education process, he made a great effort to understand the reality of the Party and the Leadership. It was based on carrying out the march of struggle within the framework of the Party’s principles, and was a follower of this throughout his struggle life. Again, he wanted to be an answer by participating in the historical process we are going through more decisively and strongly as a militant. Concentrating on the insufficient comradeship that caused our Leader’s captivity, our comrade Rênas wanted to make up for this deficiency and to be a true comrade to his comrades and our Leadership throughout his life. He has been aware that this is only possible with a strong participation and a sense of responsibility that will lighten the burden of his comrades. On this basis, after carrying out guerrilla activities in the Garê and Heftanîn areas, he insisted on moving to the Metîna area, where the war was intense.
He participated in many actions against enemy attacks in the Metîna area, where he went as a unit commander. He gave confidence to his comrades with his success in these actions. Thus, Cenga Xabur Martyr became one of the leading commanders of the Battle of Maraş. He continued his participation in the line of sacrifice, which we can see in his entire revolutionary life, in the last enemy attack on the Hill Ortê area, and marched against the enemy with great courage. Our comrade Rênas, who never hesitated and became an example and a source of strength for all his comrades with his determined stance in the struggle, was martyred in the enemy attack in the Hill Ortê area and joined the caravan of the immortals.

SERDAR ROJHILAT
Comrade Serdar was born in a patriotic family that preserved its national characteristics in the city of Diwandere in Rojhilatê Kurdistan. Because of this characteristic of his family, our comrade Serdar was also brought up with Kurdish tradition and culture. However, the fact that he could not speak the language he spoke at home in public schools, that he could not be educated in his mother tongue and the pressures developed against our people caused our comrade Serdar to experience contradictions at an early age. The fact that our people are treated as second-class people everywhere has increased these contradictions and tried to understand the reasons for this. In this process, he started to better understand and analyze the reality of the enemy, the reality of the people of Kurdistan. It has brought to the awareness that the current situation of our people is inferior to the status of slavery and that they are denied as a people. Expressing that this situation can never be accepted, our comrade Serdar realized that it is absolutely necessary to fight. Although he first took part in some organizations fighting specifically for Rojhilatê Kurdistan, he understood that the current situation of these organizations remained very local, could not appeal to all Kurdish people and was far from realizing the Kurdistan Revolution. Thereupon, our party sought to get to know the PKK, and at the end of these searches, it decided to join our Party, which it partially got to know.
After joining the guerrilla ranks, he was most impressed by the compatibility of our Party’s theory and practice. As a freedom guerrilla, he believed that he should be actively fighting against the attacks against our people and our Movement. For this, he trained and developed himself militarily and became a competent guerrilla of the new era. It specializes in using medium automatic weapons, which are used very effectively especially in guerrilla warfare. He saw sharing what he learned with his comrades as both a comradeship and a revolutionary duty, and he worked hard for this. Our comrade Serdar, who remained loyal to the theory-practice dialectic that made him know our party, wanted to practice what he learned on the war front, and he was very insistent on this. Due to this insistence, he had discussions with his comrades, but still stated that he should take his place in the war front as a freedom guerrilla. On this basis, it moved to the Metîna area, where the enemy attacks were intense and the hot war was taking place.
After moving to the Metîna area, he waited with great excitement and morale for the moment when he would enter the war against the enemy. This excitement, enthusiasm and morale also affected his comrades. Our comrade Serdar, who is younger and newer than many of his comrades, has become a pioneer militant with his strong concentration, stance in life and devoted participation. He wanted to show this pioneering role on the battlefield as well. Comrade Serdar, who was among the first teams that took action to defend his comrades against the enemy’s attack on the Hill Ortê area in Metîna, went against the enemy with great courage and determination, and had a share in the punishment of many enemy soldiers. As he dealt a blow to the enemy with his skill in the war, he also managed to become one of the most outstanding examples of Apoist militancy with his self-sacrificing participation.
We express our condolences to all our patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the valuable families of our comrades Arîn, Rênas and Serdar, who are among the most outstanding examples of Apoist militancy with their persistent stance in the struggle and sacrificed themselves for the liberation of our people.”
