“The valiant son of our people in Dêrsîm, our Party’s PKK’s leading militant and brave guerrilla commander, Comrade Ali Haydar died on July 17, 2022. We extend our condolences to the esteemed patriotic family of our heroic commander, who has been fighting non-stop for 30 years, from the mountains of Kurdistan to the mountains of Turkey, with great faith, great self-sacrifice and will of steel, and all the people of Dêrsîm. My condolences to all our comrades and patriotic people of Kurdistan, who are fighting along the Apoist line with great determination in every field. We promise that we will always keep the memory of the valiant commander Ali Haydar alive and that we will certainly achieve the sacred goals for which he spent a lifetime fighting.

Our people of Dêrsîm have a very important place in the history of Kurdistan with their stance that does not allow the occupation and the occupier, and with their resistance to live freely in the rebel mountains of Kurdistan with their language, identity and culture. Our people of Dêrsîm, who have preserved their language, culture and free identity despite being exposed to destruction and genocide attacks by the colonialists many times, have always managed to keep the tradition of resistance they created alive. Dêrsîm, one of the first spreading areas of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, sent tens of thousands of his brave sons to the ranks of the struggle, and strongly demonstrated that he was a follower of Leader Apo’s philosophy with his practice.
Our comrade Ali Haydar was born in a family that is strongly attached to this tradition of resistance and makes a living by their hard work. Growing up in an environment and family that adheres to the line of struggle enabled our comrade to recognize the colonialist Turkish state from an early age and to take part in the revolutionary struggle. Our comrade Ali Haydar, who grew up listening to the stories of the resistance and struggle of Seyîd Rıza, Elîşêr, Zarife and Besê, has been in great anger against the colonialist Turkish state. Our comrade Ali Haydar, who knows very well the fact that victory can never be achieved without an organized people’s struggle, sought to join the ground of effective and correct struggle early on. Our comrade, who closely follows the PKK, wholeheartedly believed that the fire of freedom lit by Leader Apo will make our people’s dreams of a free future come true.
Deciding to become a militant of the PKK’s victory line, our comrade has reached the determination to join the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in the lands where he was born and grew up in 1993. Comrade Ali Haydar has always been one of our comrades with great will, who always stays at the forefront and in difficult areas throughout his struggle. Throughout his 30-year revolutionary struggle, each year of struggle will be the subject of a novel in itself, he worked nonstop, ran from task to task, always based on the line of achieving success in his term with a self-sacrificing militant spirit. Comrade Ali Haydar has managed to become a determined militant of Leader Apo, a loyal follower of the line of martyrs, an honorable and heroic son worthy of the people of Dêrsîm, with his life, war and self-sacrificing style of participation.
He joined the first guerrilla practice in the Erzurum area in 1993, and with the experience he gained, he moved to the Dêrsîm area, where he would wage a long-term and successful struggle for 4 years. Our comrade Ali Haydar, who has matured in practice in Dêrsîm, took part in many actions and dealt heavy blows to the invading Turkish army with his comrades. Our comrade, who has always been at the forefront with his brave and productive personality, became a commander in a short time and became the owner of a stronger and more responsible participation. He was known for his unwavering loyalty to the party line, and by ensuring that Apoist militancy criteria prevailed in every environment he was in, he brought about great developments.
Our comrade Ali Haydar, who has achieved results in every effort with his unlimited knowledge in the ranks of the struggle, believed that a blow should be struck against the fascist Turkish state in the areas where he felt most comfortable and believed to be under his control, and on this basis, he moved to the Black Sea area in 1998 as a leading commander. It has turned every opportunity into action to hold the invaders accountable and has become the nightmare of the fascist state. Our comrade, who never stopped and never lost the strength and energy of the struggle given by the Apoist philosophy, went back to Dersim after the Black Sea and continued his struggle until 2001. Then, he moved to Medya Defense Areas, deepened in his Leadership philosophy and new paradigm, and attended trainings to successfully complete his term duties. Our comrade Ali Haydar, who transferred his experience to his comrades and took the experience of his comrades and turned them into a more effective struggle ground, returned to Bakurê Kurdistan in 2003 after his practice in the field of Qandil and worked as a guerrilla in Amed for a while. With the great love and devotion he felt for the holy lands of Dêrsîm, he could not stay away from the land where he was born and grew up and moved to Dêrsîm in 2004. Our comrade, who continued his guerrilla practice in Dêrsîm, Black Sea and Koçgirî areas until 2009, dedicates every breath he takes to realizing our people’s hope for freedom. Our comrade, who constantly raises the bar of struggle by carrying out a legendary guerrilla practice in Bakurê Kurdistan, has become one of our exemplary commanders with years of experience and unlimited knowledge.
As a leading commander of the People’s Defense Forces, the legitimate defense force of our people, in the face of attacks aimed at genocide against the Kurdish people in the 21st century, especially our Êzidî people, he has waged an effective war against the genocidal gangs in the areas where ISIS gangs are located. Together with his Apoist comrades and the brave fighters of the Kurdish people, our comrade Ali Haydar, who successfully fulfilled his duty by protecting our people from genocidal attacks and ensuring their freedom, later returned to the mountains of Kurdistan and continued his struggle against the invading Turkish state.
Our comrade Ali Haydar served in the provincial commands both in the Black Sea, in Dêrsîm and in the Medya Defense Areas, successfully fulfilled many of his command duties and reached the level to take part in the field command. With his working, simple and honest personality, he has earned the endless love and respect of all his comrades and our people in every environment he is in. He embraced the struggle of all our immortal martyrs in the person of our comrade Martyr Aydın, who was martyred in Dêrsîm in 1994, and kept their memories alive in the struggle he waged. Our comrade Ali Haydar, who took part in numerous actions as a self-sacrificing militant and a leading commander, never took a step back despite being injured many times, and continued to be at the forefront by recovering quickly with the Apoist will.
We once again express our condolences to the valuable family of our comrade Ali Haydar, the martyr of our people’s cause of existence and freedom, the strong-willed militant of our Party PKK, and the valiant resistance fighter of Dêrsîm.”
