NEWS CENTER – The People’s United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH) Executive Committee, which made a written statement on the anniversary of the massacre carried out by the Turkish state under the name of “return to life operation” in prisons, emphasized that they will increase the struggle while commemorating the prisoners who lost their lives.
Here is the statement:
“The revolutionary struggle is full of unequal conditions of struggle. The rulers use all the means at their disposal to suppress, regress and destroy the revolutionary, progressive struggle of the oppressed. Prisons are the places where unequal war conditions are experienced the most. In this sense, the prisons have been and will be the positions of the revolution in a strategic sense, although they strengthen the hands of the sovereigns tactically!
Prisons have been the most important weapon used by the “TR” fascism against the oppressed. Because throughout its history, he tried to prevent the revolutionary struggle, which he could not prevent and could not afford to fight hand to hand, only by filling the prisons. It has become the strategic weapon of the fascist state to not only be limited to the revolutionary struggle forces, but also to dampen all voices opposing it by threatening them with prisons. It propagates ‘We are building high-tech prisons’ to poor people, but it is a movement worthy of ‘TC’ fascism. While the oppressed peoples are struggling with poverty, hunger and misery, the fascist “TR” state continues its policy of adding new prisons every day. For him, the prison policy is clear; To crush those who stand in front of him, to imprison what he cannot crush, to leave no trace of humanity! Isolation, harassment, is to use the dirtiest means, such as rape. As long as the survival of the “state” and the authority of the government are not shaken!
The 19-22 December 2000 massacre and the glorious resistance were carried out within the framework of this understanding. He could not deal with the revolutionary wave rising in the countryside, cities, schools, factories and streets, and he put into effect the policy of intimidating and pulling back revolutionary vanguards by “jamming” them inside. “If I take the vanguards, the people will be afraid and will not follow them, and therefore they will disappear by being alone, and I will make the insiders need death”, yes, the policy of the fascist state was that clear. However, the fact that the “revolutionary will cannot be surrendered”, which he did not take into account, was also slammed into his face by his successors, just like his predecessors. Aside from the glorious resistance inside, the prisons were leading the outside and were at the forefront of the revolutionary march.
The revolutionaries knew how to use their body, which is the only asset they can use as a weapon against the enemy, as a tool for various revolutionary actions. They were able to repel the attacks of surrender by taking on the conscious, organized dynamic role of man in the face of technical superiority. Sometimes, with the hunger strike, sometimes with the death fast, he put his body to death, but they did not kneel before the enemy. Political and organizational differences aside, they wrote the history of trench comradeship by centering the common denominator! The enemy was helpless against it. It decided to apply the “F type” model used in the world to Turkey-North Kurdistan prisons. Its purpose was to perpetuate the isolation, to disperse the collective spirit within, and to take over the revolutionism. However, knowing that the revolutionary will would not surrender to this, he launched a simultaneous action with 8,000 law enforcement forces, which he called the “return to life operation”. In response to the active resistance of political prisoners, he resorted to massacre and killed 28 revolutionaries and injured hundreds.
The resistance did not stop, the flag continued to be raised higher. Revolutionary prisoners who were forcibly transferred to F-types declared through death fasts that they would not submit to permanent isolation. They laid their bodies to die in order to account for the immortalized comrades and to break the isolation. With this glorious resistance that lasted for months, the enemy once again suffered a strategic defeat, and once again realized that no matter what they did, the revolutionary will cannot stand against their trench comradeship. 122 fighters of the Red resistance turned the enemy’s attacks against 122 revolutionary surrenders, oppression and massacres.
What was in the enemy prisons yesterday is the same today. Because prisons are state policy, not power. The AKP-MHP fascist government is also the “loyal” executive of this policy. Couldn’t expect otherwise. If the so-called enemy governs the country and thus the oppressed peoples with open fascism, it is in their nature to do so, just like the use of chemical weapons. Today, because the enemy knows that he will be defeated, just like his predecessors, he relentlessly attacks the revolutionary vanguards and opposition groups. In order to fill the prisons with political prisoners, by releasing from his gang to his murderer, from rapists to drug barons, he not only strengthens the paramilitary structure abroad, but also makes room for political prisoners by evacuating them. The fascist government included severe isolation conditions, torture, naked search, harassment, He systematized his attacks on revolutionaries through usurpation of rights and many other methods. In the last year, dozens of revolutionaries have been martyred in prison as a result of these attacks.
As a matter of fact, the revolutionary and political prisoners in dozens of dungeons are increasing their resistance against the attacks. Responding to the attacks with resistance, the revolutionary prisoners also actively participate in the revolutionary struggle. They continue to be at the forefront of the united revolutionary march, leading the way. It is a necessity of revolutionary responsibility to bring this revolutionary insistence, determination and fight outside and combine it with the tasks of the day.
As the People’s United Revolutionary Movement, we commemorate with respect and gratitude the fighters who died in the war of 19-22 December. At the same time, we salute with all our revolutionary enthusiasm all our comrades who are fighting heroically against enemy attacks today. And once again we shout that we will raise their fight against the attacks of isolation and surrender.”
