FRANKFURT – Yesterday night, November 30th, the young Kurdish women from Apoíst Initiative together with their internationalist friends, marked a branch of the Iş-Bank on the Hauptwache in Frankfurt am Main with red paint and explained:
RED COLOR – SYMBOLIC BLOOD
“Last night we, Kurdish and internationalist young women, drenched the branch of the Iş-Bank at the Hauptwache in Frankfurt am Main in red paint – red, like the blood that the Turkish army has been spilling in Kurdistan every day since the beginning of the wars of aggression. We left symbolic blood, red handprints and the inscription ‘Stop the Turkish attacks on Kurdistan’ on the glass facade of the bank to carry our no to the illegal war of aggression into the cityscape and to show who is involved.
The Turkish state started its offensive operation on Rojava on the night of November 19th, almost 7 months after it started a war of aggression already in the free mountains of Kurdistan using banned chemical weapons and gases, thermobaric bombs and killer drones.
BANKS LIKE IŞ FINANCING TURKEY’S FASCIST EXPANSION POLICY
While Turkey is in a deep internal political and economic crisis, with inflation around 180%, the Erdogan regime is investing thousands of lira in the war industry to finance the attacks. Banks like Iş-Bank, the largest Turkish bank, which was founded as the first bank of the Turkish Republic, are instrumental in legitimizing the fascist Erdogan regime and financing its neo-Ottoman, fascist expansionist policies. With the founding of the Turkish Republic under Atatürk, the systematic oppression and annihilation of
non-Turkish minorities such as Kurdish and Armenian society became institutionalized and continues to this day.
THE INTERNATIONAL SILENCE AND THE HYPOCRISIVE TRAFFIC LIGHT GOVERNMENT
We condemn the silence of the international community, the hypocritical traffic light government, especially the “feminist” bemoaning Green Party, which has followed the line of the fascist and genocide Erdogan since coming to power and babbled about “legitimate self-defense” and “fighting terrorism” while freedom fighters in the caves of Kurdistan are smothered with chemical gas, inner cities and civilian infrastructure in Rojava are bombed hundreds to thousands of times a day and Turkish soldiers have to burn the corpses of their own soldiers to hide the losses from the home population.
IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS YOUNG WOMEN TO DEFEND FREE LIFE
As young women from Kurdistan and all over the world, we see it as our responsibility to defend the free life and hope of revolutionary forces worldwide. While the Gerîla and the defense forces resist the occupation on a daily basis, the long arms of Turkish fascism are also present in Germany and are doing intensive work to ensure their influence. It is our responsibility to expose these warmongers, be it the German arms industry, Turkish offshoots of the fascist Gray Wolves, offshoots of the AKP-MHP regime or banks like the Iş-Bank.
