NEWS CENTER – In the city of Hannover and Berlin the Kurdish and Internationalist Youth demonstrated spontaneously against the use of chemical weapons and made calls to demonstrate on the 26 of November against the PKK ban in the country.
The youth of TCŞ and TekoJIN demonstrated yesterday (November 14) from 9:00 p.m. from the fascist Turkish consulate to the city center. The young activists blocked the street in front of the fascist Turkish consulate for 10 minutes and demonstrated towards the city center with a banner reading “Stop the chemical gassing of Kurdistan”. The youth and young women shouting slogans in the city center drew a lot of attention. During the demonstration, the youths often chanted slogans in German and Kurdish such as “Bijî Berxwedana Gerîla”, “PKK, Rache”, “Dest bı dest, mil bı mil Werin Cenga Azadiyê ” and sang the anthem of Çerxa Şoreşe.
On the evening of November 14, the young women from TekoJIN carried out a poster campaign against feminicides together with the youth from TCŞ in Berlin.
Information about murdered women was posted on the busy streets of Berlin-Kreuzberg. The young activists wanted to draw attention to feminicides worldwide and especially to the role of Kurdish women and explained:
“Women are affected by abuse, violence and murder all over the world. In recent years in particular, the number of femicides has increased. Kurdish women are doubly victimized because of their ethnicity, and their identities are often erased and rendered unimportant in feminicide.”
In addition, the young activists use the action to mobilize for the upcoming demonstration in Berlin, which will take place on November 26th in Berlin and is directed against the PKK ban that was introduced by the German government on that date and since then Kurds in the Diaspora criminalized.
