NEWS CENTER – In the framework of war crimes committed by the Turkish occupying state in southern Kurdistan, the role of the Iraqi government is crucial, in addition to the role of the KDP and the Barzani clan. If the Iraqi government had already raised its voice at the beginning of the occupation invasion of the fascist AKP-MHP, if it had reacted against the committed war crimes, the use of chemical weapons and banned bombs of the Turkish occupation army on Kurdish soil, inside the borders of Iraq could not have reached such an extent. But the Iraqi government kept a low profile and remained silent.
So, in the following, within the framework of the dossier “Your Silence Kills”, the role of the Iraqi government will be examined in more detail, which with its silence, is an assistance in the war crimes of the Turkish occupation army.
3.2 POISON GAS AND CHEMICAL WEAPONS
3.2.2 PULMONARY AGENTS – GREEN CROSS – GREEN CROSS
3.2.3 YELLOW CROSS MUSTART – YELLOW CROSS – SKIN COMBATANT
MUSTARD GAS- LOST
3.2.4 BLOOD WARFARE AGENT
HYDROGEN CYANIDE – HYDROCYANIC ACID
3.2.5 PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE AGENTS
3.2.6 OCULAR WARFARE AGENTS – WHITE CROSS/DRINKING GAS
3.4.3 ATOMIC DEMOLITION MUNITIONS (ADM)
4.2 THE ROLE OF THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT
Murat Karayilan also drew attention to the role of the Iraqi government in the named interview, which is silent towards the invasion and the attacks with chemical weapons and banned bombs. He stated:
- “Second, the Iraqi government’s silence also leads to similar results. The Iraqi government also does not raise its voice. When the Turkish state came in the 1990s, the Iraqi government was against it; Again and again, the forces of the South faced each other within the alliance. In such situations, the European Union and similar institutions make decisions and give time for the withdrawal of the Turkish occupying state. In this context, there was pressure on Turkey to withdraw. If you look now, there is nothing like that.”
It is clear that if the Iraqi government raised its voice against the ongoing invasion, something would move on the international agenda, but it is holding back. Duran Kalkan also addressed the issue in an interview, speaking generally about the support the Turkish occupying state is receiving during the ongoing invasion:
- “They are supported by the US and NATO. They are receiving support from the KDP. We can say the following: in fact, the USA and the KDP are encouraging, provoking and directing more the Turkish Republic, AKP-MHP fascism for such an attack. Because they try to make policy based on it. We have already evaluated the 2021 attack as a joint attack of the US, Turkey and KDP. This joint attack situation is continuing. This is where Iraq’s role becomes more important. Iraq seems to be against it from time to time, but the Şengal policy developed on the basis of the 09 October agreement with the KDP and the fact that its two generals were shot and killed by Turkish planes in Xinêre showed that the Iraqi government was also involved and that the current Kazimi government supports the Turkish attacks. Now the April 17 attack has better revealed this fact.
- Although the Iraqi Foreign Ministry says that they have no relations and Tayyip Erdoğan would lie, on the other hand, Tayyip Erdoğan openly says “we are in relation and we are leading an alliance”. In practice, Tayyip Erdoğan’s statement holds true here. No matter how much the Iraqi government denies it, it is useless, it has no practical meaning. Because politically and militarily it does not oppose the invasion attacks of the Turkish Republic.”
The spokeswoman of IPPNW (The International Physicians Association for the Prevention of Nuclear War) Dr. med. Gisel Penteker also confirmed these statements in an interview with Medya Haber news agency and made it clear that the government in Baghdad and Hewlêr (Erbil) had quite the possibilities to ask the OPCW to investigate the operations, but they remained silent because they cooperate with the criminal Turkish state. She also expressed incomprehension of the Iraqi government’s acceptance of Turkey’s territorial attacks and urged an investigation into chemical weapons use in the area.
