NEWS CENTER – Arrests and violence have not been able to stop the demonstrations and protests in East Kurdistan and Iran and the streets and universities are the arena for the voices of the citizens.
A large number of citizens gathered at the grave of Nasrin Qaderi, a female student from Marivan, East Kurdistan, who died in Tehran, chanting slogans such as “Women, Life, Freedom” and “Death for the Dictator”.
Nasrin Qaderi’s brother, Ako Qaderi, said the forensic medical examiner has not yet announced the cause of her death.
She also indirectly said that her father was forced to attribute her daughter’s death to illness under pressure from the security forces. According to East Kurdistan news sources, Ako Qaderi was arrested by Iranian forces hours after the ceremony.
Meanwhile, in Sanajad youths took to the streets in several neighborhoods of the city to protest with slogans. In Kamyarān, a number of female students marched and chanted slogans such as “Women, Life, Freedom”.
At the same time, students and teachers of Sanajad universities continued to go on strike and boycott classrooms.
A large rally was held in a closed hall at Sharif Industrial University in Tehran demanding the release of the arrested students and the cancellation of the punishment decisions.
Adel Firdausipour, a well-known Iranian sports presenter and announcer who is also a professor at the university, protested against the pressure on the university and students, saying, “Everyone should respect ‘women, life, freedom’
At the urban level, citizens are using every opportunity to convey their protests, including writing and chanting slogans, hanging slogans and pictures of killed demonstrators on bridges, setting fire to symbols of power and women marching without headscarves.
In Zahedan, shops and markets were closed yesterday on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the deaths of the victims of Bloody Friday. Activists in some Iranian and East Kurdistan cities have called for commemoration ceremonies in all regions for the same purpose.
On Friday, September 30, thousands of people demonstrated in Zahedan to protest the rape of a girl by a police officer and the killing of Zhina Amini. More than 100 people, including at least six children, were killed by state forces.
