BERN – On the night of November 27, a demonstration took place in Bern that had not been publicly mobilized to prevent the police from cordoning off the target of the demonstration, the Turkish embassy in Bern. With this in mind, determined internationalist youth and young women came together in Bern in a covert way and took advantage of the surprise effect of their protest to appear and protest right in front of their target, the Turkish embassy.
A group of 60 people gathered in front of the embassy, chanted slogans against the current invasion war in Kurdistan and for Kurdistan’s freedom struggle, lit smoke fires and enveloped the Turkish embassy in thick clouds of smoke and left balloons to welcome the founding anniversary of the PKK. The police, who appeared after a short time to prevent the protest, were pushed back to visit the Iraqi embassy right after the Turkish embassy. In front of the Iraqi embassy, a banner was used to draw attention to the massive attacks on the guerrillas by the occupying Turkish state with poison gas and chemical weapons in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan)
After this visit, the police again tried to prevent the protest from proceeding, but these attempts were once again thwarted by the group, who made their way to the Iranian embassy. Arriving in front of the Iranian embassy after new paths were chosen, a speech referred to the revolution in Rojhilat and explained that “Defend Kurdistan means to defend Rojava Rojhilat Başûr and Bakur! Internationalism is a part that will contribute to victory!”
