NEWS CENTER – November 01 is World Kobanê Day in memory of the heroic resistance of the Kurdish people and the forces of the YPG and YPJ, whose struggle led to the collapse of the gangs of IS. The resistance in Kobanê has made history and has brought the whole world into its influence. With Kobanê, the world has come to know the heroic resistance of Kurdistan’s struggle for freedom and the revolution in Rojava. With Kobanê, the Kurdish people have shown their chairman and the whole world that they do not rely on outside help, but have the strength to repel all difficulties and attacks with their national unity and self-sacrificing resistance.
One of those who participated in this breathtaking resistance is YPJ commander Sorxwin Cûdî, who participated in the resistance in Kobanê from Rojhilat Kurdistan.
Our news agency spoke with her about her memories of this resistance and she stated the following:
BY THE RESISTANCE OF YOUTH, KOBANÊ BECOME THE CRADLE OF HUMANITY
Kobanê has an important place in the history of Rojava, and this importance is also revealed through the resistance. The resistance in Kobanê is a national resistance, so November 1 is dedicated to Kobanê as World Kobanê Day. Kobanê is like a pinnacle for all humanity and has been the cradle of humanity. The youth of every nation played a role in the success of the war in Kobanê. Rêber APO said, “We started young, we will succeed young,” and this became clear with the resistance in Kobanê. With Kobanê, two lines became clear, one line is the line of savage gangs, the other line is the line of sacrifice.
KOBANÊ WAS WASHED WITH THE BLOOD OF AUTHENTIC KURDISH YOUTH
With this resistance, welatparêzî (patriotism) feelings emerged in women, youth and the whole society. Everyone had two decisions before them, either the country would perish and give up, or it would stay and resist. But mostly resistance and freedom were chosen and many martyrs were given in this sense. It can be said that Kobanê was not easily won, Kobanê was washed with blood. Kobanê was won by pioneers such as Arîn Mîrkan, Rêvan Kobanê and Egîd. Everyone said that there will be no backing in this resistance, and that taking a step back is betrayal.
WITH THE SPIRIT OF RESISTANCE AND FREEDOM, KOBANÊ WAS FREEDED FROM COPPER WITH YOUTH
I am explaining how the epic of Sersûrî developed in the first period when ISIS gangs were crushed in Kobanê, and how the Revan line developed in the second period when ISIS gangs were crushed. The third break came with the Arîn Mîrkan, Rojhat and Egîd lines. With the belief in freedom, they went after the enemy and sacrificed. Young people from Bakûr (Northern Kurdistan) played a major role in the liberation of Kobanê from ISIS, no one can deny that. Although we did not have many means and tools at our disposal, we proceeded towards the tanks empty-handed. We attacked them with a bomb. We had only one thing, and that was our iron willpower. With this spirit, everyone in the Kobanê resistance stood upright. This spirit is the spirit of freedom that emerged in Kobanê and is now spreading all over Kurdistan. This is the spirit of the Kurdish guerrillas. It can be said that the 40-year struggle in Kobanê has achieved success.
MARTYR BAZ DELIVERED MORDEM KOBANÊ TO THE PEOPLE AND HEAD TO THE MOUNTAINS
Today, a struggle is being waged in the mountains of Kurdistan in the spirit of these revolutionary Kurds. With the spirit of Baz Mordem, who fought without rest in Kobanê, he handed over Kobanê to his people and headed for the mountains of Kurdistan. He fought against his deprivation in the mountains of Kurdistan and held on to the resistance against forbidden weapons. This state does not have the strength to fight hand to hand and without exception has turned to cruel methods. Just as Martyr Baz Mordem fought in Kobanê and defeated ISIS gangs, he also fought in the mountains of Kurdistan with the same spirit. He led an unprecedented resistance until his last breath, never gave up the struggle and took the lead on the battle fronts on this path.
THE SPIRIT OF NOVEMBER 1 IS THE SOUL OF BASE MORDEM
The spirit of November 1 is the spirit of Baz Mordem. This spirit shows the defeat of the Turkish state. If Turkey really saw itself as a state, it would not wage this war and would not use chemical weapons against Kurdish youth. They have no power to fight, they attack the guerrillas in the spirit of 21st century technology and in the spirit of partnership with traitors and collaborators. This attitude of Turkey shows that they lost to the spirit of Baz Mordem and his comrades.
