BEHDİNAN – Özgür Şerker, “Even though the war and attacks are at the highest stage, the youth spirit of the PKK, which is always alive, renews itself, and continues this struggle, does not allow the enemy to get results. Therefore, if all young people of Kurdistan want to understand the reality of the PKK, they should look to this spirit.”
Özgür Şerker, Member of Komalên Ciwan Coordination, spoke to ANF on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the PKK’s founding.
Stating that the invading Turkish state has not left an untested method in its 50-year war against the Kurdish people, Şerker said: “The attacks of international forces against Rêber Apo and our movement have never stopped. There is nothing left that the Kurdish people have not experienced. Today, there is no inhuman attack that those who talk about Kurdishness, those who set their hearts on the cause of freedom, and those who fight for human values have not suffered. The enemy is not satisfied with these attacks and continues their attacks using the most brutal methods. As it is known, it uses chemical weapons dozens of times a day. Everyone knows the chemical weapons tradition of the fascist Turkish state in Kurdistan. Today, this tradition is used by Erdogan against the guerrilla. Chemical weapons, chemical weapons, to eliminate this will of the guerrilla, this self-sacrificing stance. Even poisonous gases resort to all kinds of dirty methods. The enemy, who has not been able to achieve his goal even though there is nothing they have not done for 50 years, is still practicing all kinds of brutality in Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna. He even surpassed the brutality of the enemy Hitler, who burned even his own soldier.”
Rêber Apo created the leaven of the PKK with the youth
Özgür Şerker stated that there is the reality of a PKK resisting attacks, and expressed the secret of the Movement’s failure to experience defeat in the 50-year period with the following words: “Is the spirit of resistance. It is Rêber Apo who created this spirit. Leadership started this struggle at the age of 24. He had nothing but his youth and his will. He believed in this march, sacrificed his life for freedom and set out in this way. If the truth of the PKK and the Leadership has not been defeated despite all the attacks of the enemy for 50 years, this is related to the youth character of the PKK, Rêber Apo. Rêber Apo created the leaven of the PKK with the youth. As the Apoist Youth Movement, we are fighting along this line created by the Leader. The youth philosophy of the PKK prevented the PKK from being defeated. There is an endless search and questioning in the PKK ideology created by Rêber Apo.”
We are heading towards victory as young
Özgür Şerker underlined that the war being waged in Kurdistan today is a war of existence and non-existence, and pointed out that they are facing an enemy who wants to commit genocide against the Kurdish people and completely liquidate the Freedom Movement. Emphasizing that there are young guerrillas who resisted these attacks, Özgür Şerker continued as follows: “All those fighting in the resistance positions are young guerrillas. This shows the fact that there is no old age in the PKK. It is this youth reality that keeps the PKK alive today. That’s why nobody gets old in the PKK, they always stay young. The forces attacking the PKK, on the other hand, represent old age and attack in this way. Whatever this fascist, anti-Kurdish regime does, it will not destroy the Freedom Movement. No matter how many attacks, no matter how heavy the price is paid,
We see this spirit of resistance much better in the reality of war today. Although the war and attacks are at the highest stage, the youth spirit of the PKK, which is always alive, renews itself, and continues this struggle without interruption, does not allow the enemy to get results. Therefore, if all young people of Kurdistan want to understand the reality of the PKK, they should look to this spirit. The enemy wants to take us back 100 years and enslave the Kurds again. Kurdish youth who oppose this should also return to the reality of the PKK and the philosophy of Rêber Apo. The reality is there, it’s that character who has been fighting this fight for 50 years. From our first pioneer martyrs, heval Haki Karer, to our freedom goddesses Sara and Rûken, our martyrs represent this line. Young people fought, young people fought and today we are heading towards victory as young people.
As long as the youth character of the PKK is standing and fighting with this will in the mountains of Kurdistan, the enemy will not reach his goal. The winning spirit of youth will be the youth of Rêber Apo. As a youth movement in Rêber Apo’s 50-year march of struggle, we will further enlarge this spirit of resistance. This savage, barbaric enemy will be defeated by the sword, resistance and spirit of victory of the youth.”
