NEWS CENTER – On October 26, the 40th anniversary of Jina Aminî’s martyrdom, the demonstrations in Rojhilat entered a new phase. Thousands of people took to the streets as the regime’s threats and attacks mounted. The students became the pioneers of the uprisings in Rojhilat and Iran. In Sinê, Mahabad, Seqîz, Merîvan, Tehran and many other cities, the students continued the uprisings. On this basis, a group of young women from Rojhilat with a group of teenagers studying at the Kurdistan University in Sinê decided to join the ranks of the guerrillas of Kurdistan Freedom to resist any form of oppression and defend the revolution.
The freedom of women in Rojhilat and in Iran began with the martyrdom of the Kurd Jina Aminî. One of the youth who joined the ranks of the freedom struggle to protect the women’s revolution in Rojhilat and Iran and as part of the “Werin Cenga Azadiyê” offensive is Şaho Zerdeşt. Şaho Zerdeşt spoke to our news agency Nuçe Ciwan about the goal of his connection.
“The women’s revolution has reached its 47th day. This revolution began with the leadership of women and youth in Seqiz and Sinê. Little by little the rebellion grew, city by city and village by village. In this resistance, people want to make their dignity their own. From day one, the forces of the execution republic came to repress the people in the strongest possible terms, and the people came out to defend their legitimate rights and strengthen their resistance.
This resistance, which began on the third day of the Sinê uprisings, became a street resistance. Gradually, the resistance took over the streets of Sinê. There wasn’t a street in Sinê that hadn’t kindled the fire of women’s freedom. From the beginning, women, youth and society as a whole, have been behind this women-led revolution. This revolution is a women’s revolution
The streets of Sinê, Merîvan, Seqiz, Banê and Bokan have become arenas of resistance under the motto “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî”. Which is not only limited to Rojhilat but has spread throughout Iran and the world. This revolution, which began today with the leadership of women, will not back down and will rewrite a new phase in world history.
This is women’s leadership in the 21st century, in a century where women are constantly oppressed. This revolution and this resistance that resonated around the world from Azerbaijan to Balochistan, from Balochistan to Xûzîstan, this whole revolution is progressing under the leadership of oppressed women until the 21st century has been rewritten in the name of women.
The historic resistance that started in Sinê on the first day gradually spread to other parts of the city from Ferdowsi Street through Iqbal Square. Most of this resistance continued in the streets of Sharif Awa, Haji Awa, Naboat Square and all neighborhoods of Sinê. . . . The people have started to defend themselves with Molotov cocktails and all kinds of weapons. People know that this step is irreversible and they will not allow the enemy to attack people on the street and massacre them at will.
We as young people and students have come to the mountains of Kurdistan today to defend our rights and to strengthen this resistance. We have a strong response against the enemy and for this purpose and for the sake of legitimate defense we have taken up arms to intensify our struggle against the fascist and Iranian occupying state.
The youth, women and all people must take another step in this revolution in the mountains of Kurdistan today.
Now the Kurdish revolution has entered the armed phase and all youth must come to the free mountains of Kurdistan, take up arms and do their national duty.”
