BEHDINAN – In the statement of the PKK Executive Committee, which commemorates the martyrs of November, it was stated, “The guerrilla resistance that continues all over Kurdistan today is under the command and in the footsteps of the martyrs.”
The full statement published on the PKK’s official website is as follows:
“As the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the Kurdish people, we are living through a new November, our party month. Every field celebrates the 44th anniversary of the PKK’s official establishment, that is, its 45th anniversary. Our people and friends are excited about a new Party Day, the National Resurrection Day. In the Fiftieth Year of the Leadership and the heroic resistance of the guerrilla in Zap, this holiday is greeted with more enthusiasm and struggle. We call on our people and friends to celebrate our 45th Party Day stronger and to fight stronger in the 45th year of the PKK.
As it is known, our party PKK is a Leadership and martyrs party. Leader Apo has contributed to every moment and success of the half-century-long PKK march, from the beginning to the present. The official 45-year PKK march is a caravan of martyrs that started with our first great martyr, Comrade Haki Karer. This great struggle for freedom has made every month of the year a month of martyrs and every day a day of martyrs. So is November, our party month, and every day of it. Our heroic martyrs knew how to make November a month of resistance worthy of the PKK reality.
A MARTYR EVERY DAY OF NOVEMBER
On this basis, respect in the person of our November martyrs, our Botan Commander Delal Amed, our Zagros Commander Reşit Serdar, our Amed Commander Harun (Sureyya Özbey), our Dersim Commander Yılmaz Dersim, the leader of our Rojava people and women Şîlan Kobanê and the leader of our Rojhilat people Akif (Xdır Xiringî), comrades, We remember him with love and gratitude. We reiterate our promise to achieve their goals and keep their memories alive. We call on our people and our friends to embrace the great martyrs of November and to develop our Fiftieth Anniversary Move stronger in their line.
When we look back, we see that we had martyrs in every year, just as we saw that we had martyrs every day of November. We had martyred Edip Solmaz, the first democratic leader of the people of Batman, on 12 November 1979. We martyred Kazım Aydın and his friends in Dersim in November 1981. On November 24, 1982, the valiant fighter of the Siverek Resistance, Şahin Guide, and his group were martyred while walking to Botan on the basis of their return to the country. Comrades Seyit Rıza and Tekoşin Dersim were martyred in Dersim in November 2004 during the march to the North after the conspiracy. Şîlan Kobanê and his group were martyred in Mosul on November 29, 2004. We martyred Comrade Akif on November 5, 2006 in Qandil. Comrades Kerim Şırnak and Haki Urfa were martyred on 3 November 2012 in Xakurkê.
It is the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Comrade Yılmaz Dersim, who was martyred in Dersim on November 10, 2020. Comrade Yılmaz, who was born in Dersim and fought heroically in the mountains of Dersim for decades, was a member of the Central Committee of our party and the HPG Dersim Field Commander when he was martyred. Like his name, he became an indomitable Dersim lover and warrior. He was able to fulfill the will of Dersim Leader Seyit Rıza.
Comrade Delal Amed, who was martyred with Azê Manzikert and a group of comrades in Botan, was serving as our party’s executive committee member and HPG Botan Field Commander when he was martyred. He was a member of HPG’s Command Council and Central Headquarters Command. She was the general commander of the female guerrilla army YJA-Star for a long time. He was martyred heroically while developing the guerrilla resistance in Botan in the difficult conditions of 2017.
It is the tenth anniversary of the martyrdom of Comrade Reşit Serdar, who was martyred in Şemdinli on November 18, 2012. Comrade Reşit becomes the leading commander of the new era, who was born and fought in Botan and was martyred while trying to develop the guerrilla style of the new era in Zagros. He was a member of the Central Headquarters Command and the Zagros Field Commander when he was martyred. In the difficult conditions of 2012, he was able to develop the new period guerrilla style in the Zagros field.
Comrade Harun, who was martyred on the Garzan-Amed border on November 17, 1997, was in charge of organizing the guerrilla in the Amed field against the conspiracy whose footsteps were heard. He served as a guerrilla commander in the Amed and Zagros areas for a long time. He was described by Leader Apo as ‘a militant advancing along the lines of Agit’ and was assigned to the Amed Field Command.
On November 12, 2019, three YJA-Star commanders, Peyman Bagok, Agirî Gabar and Çawrê Cilo, were martyred in the press. On this occasion, Comrade Peyman Bagok, who has been at the forefront of the formation of the women’s guerrilla army from the very beginning and undertook the duties of the Command Council and the PAJK Assembly, commemorates with respect, love and gratitude Comrade Agirî Gabar and Çawrê Cîlo, who gave their entire young lives to the freedom struggle. We state that he will always live in our struggle for freedom.
THEY MADE NOVEMBER A PARTY MONTH
We have dozens or even hundreds of heroic martyrs like these in November. In fact, not only the founding congress, but also these heroic martyrs made November the month of the party. He made November worthy of PKK resistance. Undoubtedly, all martyrdoms are meaningful and all our martyrs are heroes. But to be a martyr of the party month is of course to carry this meaning and importance at the top. PKK means living and fighting in a way befitting the reality. It includes raising the party flag and fully implementing the line of resistance.
There is no doubt that it is our heroic martyrs who contribute the most to the realization of the Leadership. Our martyrs gave the greatest support to Leader Apo. The PKK is the organization and action of the memory of our first great martyr, Haki Karer. PKK and PAJK are the party of martyrs and the party leadership is embodied as the command of the martyrs. Our martyrs are the creators of everything in the name of freedom; always and everywhere is our greatest source of strength. We have fought and won in the Apoist line and in the footsteps of our heroic martyrs, and we will fight and win on this basis from now on.
GUERILLA RESISTANCE IS FULLY COMMANDED BY THE MARTYRS
Today, the guerrilla resistance that continues all over Kurdistan, especially in Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, is completely under the command and in the footsteps of martyrs. The victorious great dungeon resistance continues in the footsteps of our heroic martyrs. In four parts of Kurdistan and abroad, our people and friends are fighting for freedom with the strength they receive from our heroic martyrs. Our mountain, dungeon and popular resistance against the AKP-MHP fascist-genocide aiming at the physical freedom of Leader Apo is developing in line with martyrs and is advancing by giving new martyrs this November. On this occasion, we salute all the resistances in question and commemorate the heroic martyrs with respect and gratitude.
HPG and YJA-Star commanders and fighters, who have been heroically resisting against chemical and tactical nuclear weapons for seven months, especially in Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, are writing the greatest and most meaningful heroic epics in history by raising the Apoist spirit, consciousness and will to the top. They have been resisting for months in the most difficult conditions, falling martyrs when necessary, but they do not allow the AKP-MHP fascist invasion and KDP betrayal. By embracing the mountains of Kurdistan, they are trying to perpetuate Kurdish existence and freedom and to glorify human dignity.
JOIN AGAINST GUERILLA RESISTANCE
On this basis, we salute and congratulate the HPG and YJA-Star guerrillas who heroically resisted all kinds of chemical weapons and tactical nuclear bombs in Zap, Avaşîn and Metina. We commemorate the heroic martyrs who made the PKK’s self-sacrificing spirit live at the summit with respect and gratitude. We call on all our patriotic people and democratic friends to unite around the guerrilla resistance and raise the fight against chemical and tactical nuclear weapons. Against this atrocity that constitutes a crime against humanity, we invite all democracy-sensitive states and institutions to uphold their own laws and implement them against the Kurds.”
