ROJAVA – The initiative Make Rojava Green Again, part of the Internationalist Commune of Rojava made a video message sending their regards to the school and university occupations that brings attention to the climate theme.
In a next step after striking the school and organizing demonstrations for the climate, there are schools and universities being occupied by the movement against climate-change. In the frame of “EndFossil” the students aim: “to change the system by ending the fossil economy at an international level”.
They declare as principles on their website to be youth-led, to act in a climate-justice framework and to occupy until they win. In November and December this year actions take place in several regions in Europe, but also on the American and African continent.
In the video-greeting from MRGA they point out the connection between all the movements fighting against capitalism and state that its essentially one and the same struggle. Further they are asking the students to reflect on what they are studying and living for.
The campaign is involved in building an ecological society in Rojava/Northern and Eastern Syria and try to build a bride between activists from the global north and the struggle in the middle-east.
