NEWS CENTER – The Liberation Units of Afrin (Hêzên Rizgariya Afrinê – HRE for short) have announced the identities of five of their fallen fighters in a written statement. HRE’s statement reads:
“The occupying Turkish state has been bombing the villages and towns of north-eastern Syria with war planes, drones, tanks and rockets since the evening of November 19 as part of the concept of genocide against the Kurdish population. These attacks not only take place against the military units, but also target our civilian population in particular. They target and attack the institutions that serve humanity such as hospitals, schools, health centers, parks and gardens of our population, the infrastructure of the region in general. As a result of these attacks, there are not only material damage but also major human problems.
On November 20, the Turkish occupying forces in the Shehba and Afrin areas targeted many villages and neighborhoods in the region and bombed them with war planes and drones. Our comrades Xelîl, Çayan, Brusk, Dilsoz and Baran have their duty to protect the region and became the target of war plane attacks and fell to Şehîd.”
HRE fighters Xelîl, Çayan, Brusk, Dilsoz and Baran had joined HRE forces at a different time and were known for their welatparêze attitude. With their love for the country, they have developed a revolutionary personality and on this basis have joined the Liberation Units to liberate their city of Afrin. The HRE statement emphasized that for an oppressed and occupied population there is only one way to keep its dignity and honor and that is to fight the occupiers in a revolutionary way to the end.
The five fallen fighters of HRE joined the freedom struggle with heart and soul and dreamed the revolutionary dream of a liberated country and society and a peaceful life to the end. The HRE units sent their condolences to the families of the fallen and the welatparêze population and declared that they will continue the struggle of their fallen comrades to the end.
