“Dilgeş Başkale, who was one of the leading commanders of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign, and our esteemed internationalist Mazlum comrade were martyred in the attacks carried out by the invading Turkish state on May 30, 2021. Our comrades Dilgeş and Mazlum, who served at every level from warrior to commander in the Zap area where they had been for many years, and who led the way in the development of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Initiative and in building a resistance against the enemy in the line of sacrifice, left us a great legacy of struggle. We, as their comrades, promise that we will follow in the footsteps of our esteemed commanders Dilgeş and Mazlum comrades, strive to be worthy of them, and fight to the end to crown their struggle with victory.

DILGES BAŞKALE
Our comrade Dilgeş grew up in a patriotic family and environment in the Elbak district of Wan. Our people of Elbak, who had an honorable stance against fascism and sent hundreds of their brave sons to the ranks of the struggle without hesitation, since the first periods when our freedom struggle emerged and became popular, has never made any concessions from this resistance character. Our Elbak people, who have always responded to enemy attacks by increasing their resistance and joining the ranks of the struggle, have had a strong patriotic tradition and have become one of the resistance centers of Kurdistan with their insistence on freedom. Our comrade Dilgeş grew up in this patriotic culture created by the PKK and had the chance to get to know the PKK at an early age. To our comrade Dilgeş for the resistance and unyielding of the people she came from against the denial and destruction policies she witnessed in her childhood years, It has made it clear that there will be denial of the existence of any means other than resistance and struggle against fascism and genocide. For this reason, our comrade Dilgeş gained a resistance personality at an early age and realized the necessity of fighting the enemy at that age. When our comrade Dilgeş reached her young age, she witnessed more closely the unconscious and uprooting policies that the fascist, genocidal Turkish state wanted to implement on the Kurdish people, especially the youth, and felt great anger. For this reason, he believed that he needed to embody his struggle against the enemy more and realized that this would happen with the PKK, which was waging an effective war against fascism, and decided to join the guerrilla ranks.
Our comrade Dilgeş, who joined the guerrilla ranks in 2013, received his new fighter training in Zap. Our comrade Dilgeş, who has a fighting personality, has adapted to the steep terrain of Zap without difficulty. In the first days of our comrade Dilgeş’s participation, his hard work in practice and his early adaptation to his comrades attracted the attention of his comrades. After successfully completing his new warrior training, he started his first practice in Zap. Although it is new, it has given confidence to its comrades with its rapid development, knowledge of the terrain and competence. Our comrade Dilgeş, who approaches every task he undertakes seriously and does not accept any criteria other than success in every field of life, continued this approach until the moment he was martyred. Our comrade Dilgeş, who successfully carried out the duties of team and team commanders in the Zap field between 2013 and 2016, served as the company commander in 2016 and the unit commander between 2017 and 2019. In this process, he became both the commander and comrade of all his comrades, and he was loved and respected by all his comrades with his modesty and warrior. Again in this process, although he took parts of his arm and eye, he wrapped his wounds early and returned to his duty. He was interested in the ideological, military and vital education of all his comrades with whom he fought. Based on sharing all the experiences he gained with his comrades, he led his young comrades to become a good warrior and commander. In this process, it responded to the attacks developed by the invading Turkish state with effective actions. He took part in the planning of many actions that dealt heavy blows to the enemy and made it practical. After his successful practices until 2019, he received training at Mahsum Korkmaz Academy to strengthen his military competence ideologically, to account for his practice and to learn the necessary lessons. He shared the experiences he gained during the education process with his comrades and made sure that each of his comrades benefited from these experiences. Our comrade Dilgeş, who managed to impress all his comrades with his modesty and approach that considers himself responsible for life, has a strong focus on education in order to better understand and apply the Leadership ideology. Our comrade Dilgeş, who developed the characteristics of Democratic Modernity Guerrillaism with the concentrations he experienced during the education process,
Our comrade Dilgeş, who moved to the Zap area at the level of regional command again in 2020, has been in the struggle to reflect the style and tactics of the new era into practice in this area, which he knew before. With the concentrations he developed during the education process, he led and commanded his comrades not only from the military side but also from the ideological side. With the lessons learned from his previous practices, he has been in an effort to carry out more fruitful practice. Our comrade Dilgeş has been in the intensification of the heaviest blows to be dealt to the enemy in every moment of his life. He has proven himself in the practice of war with his high courage and attacking spirit. Comrade Dilgeş, who managed to become one of our distinguished comrades who made early progress and became a commander in the PKK, has rationally implemented guerrilla tactics with his practical intelligence.

MAZLUM BERXWEDAN
Our oppressed comrade, who is a valiant son of our Arab people, who is known for his loyalty to their land, was born in Qamishlo, the serhildan city of Rojavayê Kurdistan. Our comrade Mazlum, who was influenced by the internationalist line of our party PKK and the practice of Leader Apo’s understanding of democratic nation in Rojavayê Kurdistan, closely witnessed the struggle and heroism shown against ISIS and its derivatives. Our comrade Mazlum, who witnessed the price paid for the freedom of peoples to live together, decided that he should also be in this struggle. Realizing that Leader Apo’s understanding of a democratic nation is necessary for the liberation of all peoples in the Middle East, our comrade Mazlum decided to join by adopting the ideology of the Leadership. He fought against ISIS mercenaries with great courage during a period when the war was most intense. Our comrade Mazlum, who had a great effort in the victory of the freedom forces against ISIS and its derivatives, took a taste of freedom and decided to expand his struggle even more. On this basis, he turned his face to the free mountains of Kurdistan.
Our oppressed comrade has managed to attract the attention of his comrades from the very first days with his fighting personality and smiling face. Although he had difficulty in adapting to mountain life at first, he managed to overcome it in a short time with the help of his combative personality and his comrades. Our comrade Mazlum, who did not hesitate to pass on the military experience he gained in the intense war against the gangs to his comrades, has also improved himself ideologically and has been in the struggle to become a competent freedom guerrilla by combining his experiences with the philosophy of the Leadership.
Our oppressed comrade insisted on moving to the Zap area, one of the areas where the war was intense. Our comrade Mazlum, who closely felt the comradeship that is known in the steep terrain of Zap, was once again influenced by these comradely relations within the PKK and participated in practical work with all his might. He has succeeded in being one of our sought-after comrades who have left their mark in the fields he is in with his will and desire in practical studies. Our comrade Mazlum, who was brave in war as well as self-sacrifice in life, played a leading role in many actions in the Zap area that dealt heavy blows to the invaders. Our oppressed comrade, who went against the enemy without reckoning and fought with courage, has also been a source of courage and morale for his comrades.
Our comrade Mazlum, who is loved and respected by his comrades in all areas where he is involved with his uncountable and sincere participation, has been the biggest indicator that the struggle for the freedoms of the peoples will enlarge the struggle and bring absolute victory. The revolution march of our Comrade Mazlum, who reached the free mountains of Kurdistan from Rojavayê Kurdistan, where Leader Apo’s understanding of democratic nation embodied, has been one of the most concrete examples of the brotherhood of the Kurdish and Arab peoples who have lived together for thousands of years.
We extend our condolences to all our patriotic Arab and Kurdistan peoples, especially to the esteemed families of our comrade Dilgeş and Mazlum, who took their honorable place in the history of freedom of our peoples as exemplary militants and commanders.
