QAMIŞLO – On October 18, the NPG People’s Defense Center Decision Command announced the identity of 17 freedom fighters who were martyred in the occupation attacks with chemical weapons. Among them was a guerrilla called Serdem Agiri. Martyr Serdem is originally from the city of Qamishlo in Rojava Kurdistan. Martyr Serdem initially participates in self-defense activities, then develops his assassin’s weapon, and when the war in Zap intensifies, he moves to Zap. Martyr Serdem will have a certain level of experience, as much as he will transfer his skills to his friends, he will benefit from his friends, he will prepare himself for a big war process.
Martyr Serdem Agırî takes action worthy of the line of Leader Apo and the martyrs, and goes against the enemy with the power that Leader Apo had dreamed of. Martyr Serdem became one of the great workers of the resistance in Zap with his attack on the enemy.
“Martyr Serdem was known for his humility and friendly relations among the ranks of the freedom struggle. Even when he was little, he was a loved person. Martyr Serdem’s mother, who spoke to us, said that Martyr Serdem was a smart, talented and knowledgeable person and said; My name is Hemdiye Ahmed, I am the mother of martyr Serdem. Martyr Serdem was a calm, quiet and loved person even when he was young. No one was ever upset with him. He studied until the 6th grade, then dropped out and worked with his father.
In the middle of a silence that was only interested in freedom, in the early morning he turned towards the path of freedom. Hemdiye says the following about the participation of martyr Serdem; “One morning, he woke up and said, “I’m not going today, let my father go, he went out the same morning and didn’t come back. We called him and he told us, I’ve joined the YPG, let go of me. We We didn’t look for him that much anymore, we only received information about him. We didn’t talk to him until he was martyred.
A person who grows up in a revolution, in a society that is educated with free thoughts, will surely develop his love for his cause and his weapon. Martyr Serdem’s father explained that Martyr Serdem was very fond of weapons and comfortable clothes; “My name is Mihemed Abde, I am the father of the martyr Serdem. Our head is high with the martyrdom of Serdem. Serdem was a person with very good qualities. He was very fond of YPG weapons and uniforms. When he left home, he went to Tabqa, He had sent a message to his aunt on the phone and said, “I have now come to the YPG and let my mother pray for me to go to the mountains. When we heard that, we were very happy and relieved. At first, we thought he was lost.” or something happened to him, but when he gave us this information, we were happy.
Thousands of young people who gave their lives in the path of freedom, created both suffering and embassies for humanity. It is the same for the martyr Serdem, when he becomes a martyr, his community suffers, but at the same time, dozens of young people promised to avenge Serdem in the path of freedom. Martyr Serdem’s father also stated that no matter how much his martyrdom hurts us, we will always be proud and said; “After he went to the mountain, he stayed there for almost two years. After his martyrdom, friends came to our house and informed us that he was a martyr. We were very hurt by this information, but at the same time, we are proud of him.”
