NEWS CENTER – Kurdish and internationalist youth held a demonstration at the World Health Organization (WHO) building in Geneva to protest the silence of the international public against the chemical attacks of the Turkish state against the guerrilla.
Dozens of Kurdish and internationalist youth in Geneva, Switzerland, carried out a civil disobedience action at the UN WHO building. While more than 40 activists entered the building, a group stood in front of the building and gave their support.
FRENCH PARLIAMENT
Kurdish women protested in front of the parliament to expose the attacks carried out by the invading Turkish state with chemical weapons and to mobilize the French government. Upon the call of the French Kurdish Women’s Movement (TJK-F), women gathered in front of the national assembly in Paris at 14:00 to protest the Turkish state’s war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Shouting that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the biggest obstacle to peace in the Middle East, the women gave the message that France “must be against Erdoğan, who feeds on terrorism”.
In the statement made here, it was emphasized that the silence of European states, especially France, cannot be accepted despite all the information and documents revealing that the Turkish state used chemical weapons.
The slogans “Turkey is a terrorist”, “stop the massacre”, “political solution for Kurdistan” were chanted in the action. During the action, posters drawing attention to the use of chemical weapons were carried, as well as photographs of 17 guerrillas who were martyred in chemical attacks.
French Indomitable Movement MP Danielle Simonet also came to the scene and stated that she stands with Kurdish women and people. In his short speech, Simonet asked France to initiate an independent delegation by calling on the United Nations.
Simonet emphasized that the use of chemicals is a crime against humanity.
The French deputy also noted that the PKK is not a terrorist organization but a resistance organization. The action ended with a call for France to form a delegation within the United Nations and go to the region, accompanied by the slogans of “Long live the guerrilla resistance” and “Jin jiyan azadi”
COUNCIL OF EUROPE
In the action held in front of European institutions in Strasbourg, France, it was demanded that the Council of Europe take action to send a delegation to examine chemical attacks. While the same demand was expressed in the statement read on behalf of TJK-E during the action, the file that the activists wanted to present to the Council of Europe was not accepted.
The file prepared by the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) was not received by the gatekeepers. The officials requested that the file be sent either via the internet or by mail. Women also stated that they will continue their protests until the file is received.
