BEHDINAN – 20 Rojava and North and Right Syrian youth have joined the ranks of the guerrillas to avenge the deaths of 17 freedom guerrillas who were martyred as a result of the use of chemical weapons by the occupying Turkish state.
On April 14, 2022, the occupying Turkish state launched invasion attacks against Zap, Avashin and Metina areas in cooperation with the KDP.
Although it resorted to all kinds of techniques to break the guerrilla resistance, the invading Turkish state, which was helpless, started using chemical weapons against the guerrilla in order to cover its defeat. Although there have been many examples of this before, the occupying Turkish state, which intensified its attacks, has relied on hegemonic powers in its NATO-backed war.
Despite many calls for action, neither the necessary institutions have taken action nor has there been a serious reaction from the international community. Finally, on October 18, the HSM Headquarters Command made a written statement and stated that 17 guerrillas reached martyrdom as a result of chemical weapons.
The youth of Rojavayê Kurdistan and the youth of North and East Syria joined the guerrilla ranks to avenge the death of 17 guerrillas.
The statement of the newly joined guerrillas is as follows;
“To our people and welatparez youth!
The fascist Turkish state carried out a brutal massacre against our comrades, the children of this people, and used chemical weapons in this massacre. These attacks developed in front of everyone’s eyes and as a result, 17 heroic freedom guerrillas reached martyrdom. These attacks are not only attacks against revolutionaries, but also a war against the resistance peoples who do not accept the occupation and who want freedom. Most of our 17 friends who were martyred as a result of chemical weapons fought against ISIS from Kobanê to Baxoz and were wounded. The coalition governments against ISIS know that the PKK has sent thousands of commanders and fighters to Syria and Iraq to fight against ISIS. America and Europe know very well who defeated ISIS in these territories and who opened their border to them.
Today we see that the occupying Turkish state wants to avenge ISIS on those who defeated ISIS and this is being done by NATO. On the one hand, a coalition was formed against ISIS, on the other hand, it supports the Turkish state, which is a gang state. This is a great hypocrisy. On October 18th, the last images of 2 guerrillas who were martyred by chemical weapons before their martyrdom were published.
As the youth of Northern and Eastern Syria, we will not remain silent against this. Keeping silent means being a partner. What we have not done, we will do from now on. The weapons of our 17 comrades who were martyred are being raised by the 20 youth who joined us and on this basis we are joining the guerrilla ranks. Everyone should know that the generation of heroes in Kurdistan does not end. This struggle will continue until there is only one honorable youth left. The only way to honor our martyrs is to raise their weapons even higher. Our call to all young women, youth and our people is to join the war for freedom, take ownership of your duties and responsibilities, claim your martyrs, join the march for victory and join the guerrilla ranks.”
