BEHDINAN – People’s Defense Center (HSM) Headquarters Command stated the following regarding the guerrillas who were martyred in the chemical weapons attack:
“As a special war government, the colonialist Turkish state led by the AKP-MHP is committing war crimes in defiance of international laws in its invasion attacks in Bashure Kurdistan. It is perpetrating a terrible state terror against our people, all forces fighting for freedom, and innocent and civilian people. Starting from the Garê/Siyanê attack in February 2021, against the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, it used internationally banned bombs and chemical weapons that produce poisonous gases in the Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna areas, and continues to use them. During 2021, the Turkish army carried out 367 banned bomb and chemical weapon attacks in the areas of Garê’s Siyanê, Metîna’s Zendûra, Avaşîn’s Mamreşo, Girê Sor, Aris Faris, Girê Kartal and Werxelê, and 46 of our comrades were martyred in these attacks alone.
Although the Turkish state’s violation of international laws and inhuman practices are considered war crimes, the relevant international institutions have turned a blind eye to this and continue to do so. Against our guerrilla forces, which carry out self-defense within the framework of the legitimate, human and democratic rights of the people of Kurdistan, the Turkish state is committing all kinds of inhumane crimes, relying on the support provided by NATO. Encouraged by this silent or supportive attitude of international organizations, the AKP-MHP government has developed a new concept based entirely on the use of banned bombs and chemical weapons in the invasion attack of Bashure Kurdistan in 2022. Although the Turkish army has used banned bombs and chemical weapons individually in different places and dates in the past, this has become systematic in 2021 and especially in 2022. It has been determined by us that he used banned bombs and chemical weapons 2467 times during the 6-month war period between 14 April and 14 October 2022. The identity information of our 27 comrades who were martyred in these attacks has been made public in previous statements. Lastly, 17 more of our commander and warrior comrades were martyred with the same weapons.
THE TURKISH STATE IS USING MORE INTENSIVE CHEMICAL WEAPONS IN RECENT MONTHS
Delegations that wanted to come to the region and conduct research and investigations on the use of prohibited weapons were blocked by the forces affiliated with the KDP dominating the region. One of these delegations came to the town of Amediyê, where such weapons were used within 5 km, but they were not allowed to investigate. However, our forces presented to the public many documents and images proving the war crimes of the Turkish army, albeit piecemeal, under the most difficult war conditions and bombardments. Despite this, the democratic public was not sufficiently sensitive, the relevant institutions did not speak up and did not make a strong objection. The AKP-MHP special war government, taking strength from this, has been using banned bombs and chemical weapons, which it has systematically used, especially in recent months, much more intensively, due to the pressure and blockage caused by the inability to achieve results in the war against the guerrilla.
IT ALSO USES TACTICAL NUCLEAR, THERMOBARIC AND PHOSPHORUS BOMB
In addition to chemical gases of various shades that poison living things, it has also been determined that the Turkish army uses different types of banned bombs. It uses the tactical nuclear bomb type too much, which destroys the tunnel system with chemical gases and creates a poisoning effect in a narrow area. These bombs are not of the type that emit radiation to a wide area; It is a type of banned bomb that is dosed, has destructive power by releasing high pressure and heat, and has a lethal effect in narrow spaces. He also used thermobaric bombs and phosphorus bombs with similar properties. If the arrival of the relevant investigation teams to the battlefield is not prevented and security is provided, it will be clearly revealed that the Turkish state is using prohibited weapons.
In recent days, 9 comrades were martyred in the Shikefta Birîndara area of Zap, 5 in the Karker area and 3 in the Werxelê area of Avaşîn, in the attacks that developed with banned bombs and chemical weapons. Among these friends, the martyrdom of our comrade Baz (Mehmet Can Evren) was announced beforehand, but the reason for the martyrdom was shown differently for precautionary purposes in order not to reflect that the weapon used by the enemy was effective.
The Turkish army continues to commit these war crimes in the areas of Şikefta Birîndara, Karker, Werxelê, Girê Hakkarî, Girê FM, Girê Cûdî, Girê Amediyê and the villages of Sîda and Çemço, where the resistance is still ongoing. It is also seen that if there is no deterrent reaction against the genocidal AKP-MHP regime and the Turkish army, this inhuman war crime will be committed even more.

The torture and brutality inflicted on the Kurdish people in all of Kurdistan has pushed our comrade Rûbar to a deep questioning. Our comrade Rûbar, who knew the PKK due to the patriotism of his family circle, gave the biggest answer to all these policies implemented against the Kurdish people and joined the PKK. Our party joined the ranks of the PKK, especially from Silêmani and from every city in Bashure Kurdistan, and dozens of our heroic comrades, such as Doctor Sîrwan, Viyan Soran, Helmet (Diyar Xerib), and Berfin Rêbaz, reached martyrdom by fighting selflessly for the freedom struggle of our people. Our comrade Delal, whose brother is also in the ranks of freedom, was impressed both by his brother’s participation and by these great heroic martyrs.
