NEWS CENTER – A nationwide strike is being held in most Iranian cities and universities, while students have begun protests in several major universities in the capital Tehran and other cities.
According to a statement issued by the Iranian Students Union, students held protests at Beheshti University of Science and Technology, Sharif University, Dental Department of Tehran Azadi University, Tehran Azadi University North, Azad University in Pune, Tehran Foreign Language and Literature Department and chanted slogans in support of mass protests across Iran.
In other Iranian cities, students of Isfahan University of Technology, Mashhad’s Ferdowsi University and Zanjan University also held protests. Meanwhile, citizens held a rally in front of Azad University in Karaj, and a protest rally was held in Khorazmi University, Karaj branch.
In some Iranian cities, including Shiraz and Gohardasht, citizens held protests outside universities. Also today, some countries around the world held rallies in support of the protests and demonstrations in East Kurdistan and Iran, including Italy, Japan, Australia and New Zealand
