Our agency has been constantly publishing the videos, reports and information related to the war crimes of the Turkish fascist state and from the perspective of remembering the heroes of this historic resistance, we will be publishing about the 17 martyred guerrillas over the next few days in order to remember their struggles, their conviction with the revolution and Serokatî and denounce such war crimes.
HELBEST KOÇERİN
Our comrade Helbest was born in a family belonging to the patriotic Sorî tribe in the Dihê district of Sêrt. Our comrade Helbest immigrated to the metropolises of Turkey due to the enemy pressures of her family and had to grow up in the metropolis. Although our country has lived far from Kurdistan, it has never moved away from the Kurdistani culture and values that created it. Our comrade Helbest, who had the opportunity to get to know the reality of the enemy more closely in the city he lived in, set an example for all her surroundings, especially with her high sensitivity to the Kurdish language. She realized early on that freedom can only be won by fighting the existing enemy reality. With this awareness, our comrade Helbest saw the Kurdistan mountains as the most effective area of struggle and joined the guerrilla ranks in 2014. When she joined the guerrilla ranks, she was most impressed by the leading role of the female guerrillas in life and war. She also claimed to be a pioneer and successful commander, and for this she invested herself in military and ideological training. Our comrade Helbest, who was a competent guerrilla with the training she received, started her first practice in the field of Zap. She gained a certain knowledge and experience in the guerrilla warfare style in his Zap practice for about two years. Later, due to the massacre attacks of ISIS gangs against our people, it took its place in the war front of the struggle against this gang group. She became a source of strength for her comrades around her with her courage, morale, enthusiastic participation and unwavering approach to the enemy during the war. Due to this uncalculated participation in the war, she first took the task of team commander. Our comrade Helbest, who took part in many moves during the war, healed her wounds in a short time even though she was seriously injured once, and took her place in the ranks of the fight in a more determined and stronger way. Our comrade Helbest, who turned her face to the mountains of Kurdistan during the periods when the invading Turkish army was increasing its attacks on the Medya Defense Areas, went through a certain training process. With her stance in the training process, she once again reiterated her claim to be a leading commander in order to respond to the vital need our Leader identified as “war seeking its commander”.
On this basis, she went to Zap with the duty of the unit commander. In a short time, Rêber Apo joins the war process with her mission of becoming a militant leader and a YJA Star guerrilla in Zap. During the attack on April 14, 2022, during the attack on Zap, she was in command of the specialized teams, struck strong blows against the enemy, and coordinated the actions, taking a place as a leading commander of the time. With this characteristic, she became an example for all her companions, and successfully fulfilled the mission of commanding time. Martyr Helbest Koçerin fought hard against the enemy both on the ground and in the tunnel war, even though she was affected by the enemy’s brutal use of prohibited weapons, she resisted with Apoyi’s will. She wrote her name in the history of women’s freedom and resistance of our people.
