NEWS CENTER – To protest, to show that you are against something, there are different forms and ways. The forms of action depend on the violence of what one opposes. When it is not possible to change something with non-violent forms in the context of demonstrations, marches, vigils and rallies and is exposed to massive attacks that not only threaten your own life but also attack society in its very existence. Is it time to take other measures?
Against a system that fundamentally destroys life, from the basis of life such as nature, the country, society with its language and culture, its ethics and morals, to identity, physical and physiological integrity, actions are legitimate and necessary to take action respond to these attacks.
In the struggle for freedom in Kurdistan, the revolutionary attitude of the FEDAYÎ was burned into history in golden letters. FEDAYÎ, self-sacrifice for the collective, for freedom, the life of society, the beauty of life and against a life that wants to impose the system that has nothing in common with life anymore.
However, Fedayî is not just an action in which one sacrifices one’s own life, but a fundamental attitude to life in which the revolutionary individual commits himself at any moment, at any time, in any place, for the collective, for the community, for the cause of freedom sacrificed. With this attitude, the struggle of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement has risen to the highest levels and has put the truly most beautiful people in the foreground.
When we speak of Fedayî, we must first address the chairman of the freedom movement, Abdullah Öcalan, who sacrificed everything in his struggle for the freedom of the Kurdish people and all oppressed peoples and nations and continues to do so today under the most difficult conditions. Because he formed and organized himself so resolutely with his struggle and resistance, the strongest international powers became his enemies. Because like a fire he spread the spark of hope all over the world. Like the sun, he illuminated the darkest places and made the people chained in the deepest chasms get up and lift their heads.
This is why Şehid Berîtan did not accept the betrayal and surrender and threw herself off the cliffs of Xakurke instead of surrendering to the treacherous enemies, the peshmergas of the KDP and YNK.
This is the reason why Şehid Zilan blew himself up in a military parade of the occupying Turkish soldiers in the middle of Dersim, bringing the freedom movement, the people and the enemy back to earth.
That is the reason why every day the most beautiful women and men in the free mountains of Kurdistan resisted the dirtiest methods of the fascist enemy and persisted in their resistance to the cruellest weapons of mass destruction in order to protect their people from the occupation of the fascist AKP-MHP defend.
That is why Şehid Sara and Şehid Ruken coldly and with determination entered the heart of the enemy and attacked the police station in Mersin, fully aware that with this action they will sacrifice themselves to save their comrades who are being tortured to death in the prisons by this inhumane enemy. to avenge their comrades who are being attacked on the open mountains with chemical weapons and banned weapons of mass destruction and to become a response to the current trial, while the enemy, without conscience and without limits, does everything to destroy the Kurdish people and their resistance.
How can a person be ready for such an action? It has something to do with being deeply convinced of something. To have understood that this system which is trying to establish itself on earth with the most brutal means and to make it invincible while destroying everything that is the livelihood of mankind can no longer be tolerated. With the deep need for freedom, the love for what is free and beautiful, for the purity of fighting for freedom and collectively as a new person, in a new life, with new friendships, having understood that everything else is wrong is and can no longer be accepted.
Why do the most beautiful people do this? Because they finally want to live in freedom. Because as women, as the most oppressed nation, they have received the power and strength from the Chairman’s philosophy and ideology to fight for their freedom and develop life, real life. Because they know what freedom tastes like and will never forget this taste. Because they know what true friendship means. In the history of Kurdistan’s freedom struggle, the heroic women in particular have shown their strength, spirit and courage with Fedai actions against a system that wants to turn them into products with sexism, slavery and prostitution, which trades on the market like a piece of meat will.
In the liberal system of capitalist modernity, people have forgotten to believe, have forgotten that it is sometimes worth taking risks, to do something selflessly for others. Forgetting what communality and sociality mean. Severed from their roots, they swim in a sea channeled by dams and artificial canals, not understanding that it has been a long time since they were themselves. Without understanding that there is nothing more sacred than sacrificing oneself for community, for freedom, for life.
